only the fourth player in Test history to score a century on debut at Lord's
How many players actually make their debut at Lords? Not very many I imagine.

In all the years that's not a big number. How many players actually score a century on debut? I think about 80. Four of those have been at Lords. Five have been at Adelaide. In the last 5 years 14 players have scored a debut century.

My point is that who cares if he scored a debut century at Lords. Why should this be different to scoring a debut century anywhere else?

I couldn't agrre more. Lord's has this unexplainable mystique about it as the "home" of cricket. I can't see why. It is an awful ground with that ridiculous slope.

If its such a poor ground and everything, why do so many players from around the world love playing there? And the slope just adds more character to the ground, more individuality to it, surely theres nothing wrong with being "different"? And it is seen as special to score a test century there as special because so many players regard the place as the home cricket.

And may I add that the spell Simon Jones bowled before lunch was top class, can't believe he ended up with just one wicket in the whole innings, but well played Mark Richardson!
