Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

I was speaking English, in which Netherlands is the correct name for the country.

Just to point out to people that Holland is actually a region in the Netherlands. Using Holland to refer to the whole of the Netherlands is a bit like using England to refer to the whole of the United Kingdom, but I digress.

Holland is the area broken up by the glaciers on the coast isn't it?

Where it's very flat and prone to flooding.

Edit: I mean the glaciers from the Ice Age not now :D

Given the recent crazy climate; an Ice Age may not be that far away! :p

well sri lanka white washed england as they finished the series 5-0
and also broke the world record of the S africans as they scored 433-9 vs the netherlands great news for sri lanka.......................

I'd say that Sri Lanka's effort is good.
However,I would have been pleased if this was not included in the record books.

For me,the record holders would always be South Africa and Australia.

By best player I take it you mean Ten Doeschate?

Is he injured, or have Essex taken him back?

Well, I am proud of the Dutch'z they have some young inexperienced players.
Kerveeze for instance got 18 runs today, so he is avrageing at the age of 16 and 2 matches at Netherlands: 32.50! :)
And also they were 100/1 & 62/0 after 10 overs, so sad they are 180/7 or something right now! :(

The BBC are showing that Sri Lanka won by 55 runs. Anyway, don't you think that we should get the smaller teams playing loads of Twenty20 cricket, so they could thrive in the world championships?

Cricinfo is showing 55 runs as well. Very good effort by the Netherlands. I daresay if ten Doeschate had been playing they could've won it.

CricketEurope had the wrong score for a while. Cricinfo would have had for a while too, seen as they were pinching their live scores for these matches from CricketEurope.

Essex only released him for the first game. They won't be able to refuse release in the future though.

Are the ECB/ICC cutting down on that now, then?

ICC have changed the rules so that players from associate countries will now have to be released for the following:

World Cup (Senior+Under 19s)
ICC Champions Trophy
Twenty20 World Championship
ODIs against a full member
World Cup qualifying events
