West Indies in England

West Indies aren't actually a bad ODI outfit. I think they came in to this series a better ODI team than England (and left like that). Their poor performance in the test series and the injury of Sarwan probably masked that a little.

But the West Indies have given trouble to the best of teams in the recent past.

The West Indies can't be that good a ODI team as their actual side hasen't changed much, since the test series. England should be able to beat the West Indies as easily as in the test series, because we made their bowling and batting look very ordinary during the tests, so why can't we be just as convincing as the tests.

Hopefully Peter Moores can make differents because if we play like we played today against India then its going to be 7-0.
India are a good ODI side.

If Bopara doesn't play against India then the selectors want shooting with a minigun.

And as another home series draws to a close, it's time for this thread to go to Past Tours and be left forgotten. How saddening. :)

Will freddie be back? We would have won with him today imo, i think he's the missing link in the side along with tres

I doubt it. It's probably a better decision in the long run to leave him out. Rest him coming back from his injury. Rather than push him back to early as we have in the past.

Basically put it this way; If we rush him back for the India series we'll get the lumbered Fred that we saw in the 06/07 Ashes with the batting ability of Gary Keedy. Save him until our winter tours and we'll increase the likelihood of getting the vintage Fred of 2004/2005 back.

You what Gary Keedy, he can't of done that well ;)
If Freddie concentrates on batting he could average 42 instead and we could play him as a batsmen.
At the moment he probably is still on a low after the drinking row in the West Indies and losing the captiancy.

I miss Freddie but we definately shouldn't bring him back. Hopefully we can raise our game for the India series because if we don't we've lost, Moores has to show he canbounce back now.

Moores will give him a chance if he earns it. Not doubt. But he'll also be more ready to drop Flintoff is he doesn't perform than Flecther ever was.

Well they had a bad world cup, no doubt but that was just a blip since then they have won that series with Ireland and South Africa in conditions that don't suit them, so they are back on the right track again.

India have top class batsmen but maybe their bowling and feilding will let them down, although Englands bowling hasnt been the best of late.
