No patch for AC09 - officially confirmed

Too harsh Captain in my opinion and uncalled for to insult someone like that. I mean you can have an opinion about things but why so personal?? I take Colin's word for it that he has genuinely tried to push something through. Colin has had a lot of contact with him and if he says that he has really wanted to organise something I will go with that.

Why no comment on Hmarka telling them to burn in hell?

And you are too soft in my opinion. But I know you like the "nice bloke" tag, so we'll agree to disagree.

well now it seems Its not the fault of codies because a ) PC like them so much b) according to PC they did try (forget about releasing a unfinished game in the first place). And transmission is not guilty as well because they lost jobs.. and I am sure PC is not to blame (mind you they where the ones who did the testing of the game) so that only leave one you can all blame as much as you like

Yap your correct !!!! you me and every one can blame the people who bought the game

It's a sad sad news and did leave me bereft of words for one moment. So, this long wait by every single cricket lover was totally futile?!! *sigh* Yeah, I do feel terribly heartbroken right now, but I wouldn't play a blame game here. What's the use of it? We won't get the patch done, no matter what we do. It may a fault of the Codemasters, it may not be a fault of the Codemasters; that's just irrelevant ATM. Now, as someone has already mentioned, our job should be to find out how we can make our own patches ourselves. This is what the PC community has been doing since time eternal, right? The AC09 sound editor is already released by AbBh, and a graphics cum AI editor is on the radar, if I go by his words. These three things are more than enough to change our AC09 experience, if you ask me. Buck up, guys! AC09 isn't dead yet. If the Codies wouldn't better the game, then PC will. We can still make it a perfect cricket game, if we all work together.

^What KC said. What I'd been trying to say but no one listened :p

We've changed every other cricket game for the better, and we can do it for this one. So long as Codies will let us - .-

What is all this talk of 'suppporting' codemasters and their game? They are not a charity. We are not donating to a 'worthy cause'. We are customers paying a lot of money to buy a product. They rush-released a game that even after 2 years of development was incomplete and littered with errors. If you bought any other product that was as badly flawed you would demand a refund. If I bought an ipod that was faulty I wouldn't keep it to 'support' Apple!! They messed up big time because they had to release the game during the Ashes itself (half way through the FOURTH test? Eh?) to try to maximise sales: they are in the business of making money, not being the philanthropical suppliers of cricket fans. Which is why I repeat again, we are customers paying money for a product, not charity supporters. They are not doing us a favour!

Patch

Dont despair, there is a patch coming out,its called ashes cricket 2010.

I didn't see the comment hmarka made and would have reacted in the same way. I mean I know feelings get heated in this kind of thing but in the face of things these are just luxury problems. Anyway forums are a place to have different opinions and express oneself and I very much respect that. I have no problem with that but do object to personal attacks on people because they dont happen to satisfy our "needs".

People who have bought this game have every right to feel short changed as the AI in this game is broken, playing against friends game is fine but playing against the computer it is not. Such a shame because the problems in the game are not huge and would have easily been fixable with a patch.

Such a shame that the patch isn't going to be released.

What an absolute disgrace. If the patch for console was near to completion then why give up and not be botherd to complete it? The game has got more bugs than my back garden, it was made by a bunch of numptys who haven't got a scooby doo about cricket.

What makes me laugh is that they blatently knew that all those problems were in the game and they still released it.

Jamie Firth...What a nob cheese.

Not a suprise! But I don't understand how can a game be made and have such awfull bugs in it? They supposed to test the game and fix the problems before it is released. Then a patch wouldn't be needed.

Small bugs we can put up with, but game spoiling, major ones we can't. Take Ea Cricket 07 for example. Yes it had its problems, but test match run rates, bowling speeds and run outs were more realistic. I accept a game that functions to its design, but a game that lacks in the vital elements is a poor effort.

I will be looking forward to the next cricket game. But I hope whoever makes it can learn from these mistakes and release a genuinely good cricket game. I appreciate all the work that people have done to try and fix the problems with Ashes Cricket 2009 :onpc :working
Cheers :cheers

I agree with jara! We'll get a patch, it'll be called Ashes Cricket 2010.

I personally feel that although this game has a lot of bugs and should never have been released with these many problems; it really is naive to expect a cricket game publisher to give the game suport after release (no matter what they say). Just doesn't happen!

really disappointing, atleast they should provide a server to play the game online with beta 2

Test match run rates were realistic in EA 07? You gotta be kidding me! In the game you mentioned the AI was slower than a turtle in the Test matches. It would just defend, defend and defend, no matter what the situation might be. C07 is one of the worst games I've ever played in my life. And if someone mentions "Realism" side-by-side EA Sports Cricket 2007, it really sounds paradoxical.
