Nostramadus prediction on Sachin Tendulkar

astrology might be rubbish. But its not a fact.
Science cannot prove/disprove it.

It can disprove astrology if astrology makes certain claims. Astrology makes the claim that the movement and position of the planets can influence people on earth, by exerting forces on them.

Considering that the planet Jupiter exerts as much force on a human as a newspaper held at arms length, I think we can safely say that astrology is rubbish.

may be
I don't believe in astrology, but may be astrology can make certain claims that might work. We don't know unless we experience it.
Of course, not everything will work and remember that there are lots of people in this world who make use of such things, like to gain publicity, money etc.

The bottom line is, we don't know much about it, unless we are one.
But this particular claim, and many others are something i consider rubbish.

According to Wikipedia, astrology "refers to any of several systems, traditions or beliefs in which knowledge of the apparent positions of celestial bodies is held to be useful in understanding, interpreting, and organizing knowledge about human affairs and events on earth."

But let's not forget that modern astrology is different from that before the invention of the telescope (without which, the existence of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto would be undiscovered). In that context, it is practically synonymous with astronomy. Gallileo, Copernicus and many other prominent astronomers were also practicing astrologers. The stars and planets can be used to determine the time and date as accurately as an expensive wristwatch, or even your location on Earth. Indeed, ancient astrology was important to the seafaring of the Arabs.

What is the point of this discussion.... . You guys have left Tendulkar and cricket and are discussing about the authenticity of astrology. Whats happening here??????

It says on an island of islands ?
Referring to West Indies most probably ? or Australia ?

Well Nostradamus did predict the death of Diana and the twin towers. If I am not wrong he also predicted the outbreak of WW III in 2003 ?

I'm thinking he was talking about Don Bradman. I mean, Australia is more of an Island than India...and there were severl greats -or equals- when he played (No minnows)??

Wrong. He never predicted anything. All attempts to predict the future using his writings have failed.

All predicitons have been gleaned by interpreting the writings AFTER the events.

He was an astrologer, he was just making vague statements of the top of his head that could be fit to future events by retoractive clairvoyance.

He was not talking aobut anything, it's all bullsh!t as any rational person can plainly see.

Thats a great way to be famous then...
just talk in riddles and ppl would believe you to be irrational and record your statements.

People have been falling for it for hundreds of years, and sadly will continue to fall for it for hundreds more.

Even intelligent people believe that Nostradamus predicted the future, which is a scary thought.

the islands part COULD refer to bombay, which was a series of islands

of course the thing is so vague, (havent read all of it), even if it is real, that it could refer to any place.

Btw, didnt he predict the end of the world some time in 1999, which surely proves to anybody who actually believed he could predict the future to be wrong conclsuively

He didnt predict anything conclusively. He did not predict WW 3 in 2003 or end of the world in 99. They were all interpretations of his statements. Whether he had anything in his mind while making his statements only he would know

lets be optimisic people....... Let sachin become as said...i.e UN chairman,BharatRtna etc etc....(hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....It might look like joke...rite!!!!!!)
This is a optimistic view!!!!!!!!

Its not an optimisic view....its when you exxaggerate something to an unbelievable extent.
Be realistic.
Tendulkar on his way to becoming UNChairman...the chance is very low!

well cric_lover, u told tht chance is very low!!!!!!! I knw it!!!! Thts why i told optimistic view(when u expect the thing to happen when it doesnt seem like happening is an optimistic view!!!!!!!!!!)
