3.75 rating for one of the best leagues?
Some lads have great fun rating other leagues terrible. :facepalm

Those ratings are super inaccurate. Some leagues that only last for a quarter of a the draft get 5 star ratings.

Least we all know this league is quality stuff.

Sorry to have kept this on hold for so long without any information, but I guess that's it for the OPL for some time. Life has got really really busy for me and I hardly find time to balance everything. Maybe I'll have a third season during my summer vacations next year. I am really sorry to all those who anticipated this and have waited for this. There WILL be a season three, but now's not the time. I really want to get this running on, but then it'll be forced. I promise a season during my summer vacation and that when I and you legendary managers can enjoy it the most - that's what leagues are for!

Also I'd take this as a opportunity to thank all the managers for their never-ending support and they are the main reason this league and reached heights, not only this league, but the GPL also. Thanks to Brook who supported me throughout my leagues, finally steps down. Also I would like to thank all the other managers who have made this league and PlanetCricket enjoyable for me. Sorry for letting y'all down

It's been a while since I have visited this thread, reminiscing the old times. As I promised there will be a season three and it won't be far away, just have a bunch of exams piled up and that's been preventing from being online (any indian who took up science in class 12 will understand) . I request one of the mods to lock this thread - but this will be back and running in June - that's my word!

Ponting - Flintoff Cup

In a new development, the owners of the OPL and the EPL, Dipak and Aggz have decided to organize a three match series between the OPL and the EPL Champions. The inaugural season would be contested between Auckland Aces and the soon to be crowned EPL Champion. The team which tops the table after six games will be awarded with the Ponting-Flintoff Cup which is a tribute to two of the modern era legends from the Oceania continent and England respectively.

And i thought the league is back

Do you still have my stats? It's been so long that I have no idea who performed during the season etc.

Also do I have to play Ponting, looking at my squad I have plenty of batsmen who are better than him now. :p

It would be pretty unsporting if you don't. :p

He played for another team during the season, so if anything wouldn't it be unsporting having to drop one of my guys who won me the title to play him? I guess it depends on how he's going to be rated as well, because if he was playing a game tomorrow in real life he'd be shit. :p

I don't want to come across as being a dick though, so I'll play him if Dipak wants me to.

Ian Bell > Ponting
Ponting >> Peter Fulton
Ponting >> Gautam Gambhir
Martin Guptill > Ponting
Ponting >> Virender Sehwag
Ponting >> Lou Vincent
Kane Williamson (c) > Ponting
Kumar Sangakkara >>> Ponting

Its a Draw @CG123

Will be interesting to see how Freddie will be rated. He's played no cricket matches since his bow-out in the 2009 Ashes.

Fulton, Gambhir, and Sehwag all still play cricket properly though, so in terms of playing a match tomorrow I'd probably give them the edge, taking into account that Ponting was pretty rubbish for the last year or so of his career - and he'll probably be worse now that he's commentating.

Obviously it depends on how he's going to be rated though, because if it's what he was like at his peak then yes he's better than pretty much everyone.
