ODI Tri-Series (Malaysia)

Good effort. Nice considering we win by 89 runs, and have Hussey, Lee and Hogg to come in.

At least it's all a learning curve for the West Indies. I don't understand Hinds being in the team if he's not going to open the batting personally. Plenty of time to fine tune though.

78 runs, but don't let that fool you, it was a very close match. As is so often the case for the Windies, when the top order was cracked, the collapse came. If Lara had made even 20 odd, it would certainly have been a different story.

Seems like the pitch was keeping a bit low from reading it on Cricinfo. That coupled with undiciplined middle order batting probably led to their collapse.

don't forget that gayle and chanderpaul were dropped 3 times, mcgrath nearly got them caught behind half a dozen times, As did other bowlers they did amazingly well but it was very far from perfect.

fair play to australia they carried on playing even though people are saying some rash shots still they had to do it and with the start west indies had you would of thought not chance for australia but remember it is australia and they are number 1 good playing by west indies they did give australia scare maybe next time

It never is perfect, but fortune favours the brave.

Good grief-that's a collapse and a half.

136-0 and 172-1 to 201 all out, the Windies have thrown that away.

Interesting aussie selections, I look forward to seeing the footage on ICC cricket world.

He is too old and we have better fresh blood. Whats the point in recalling 36-year old Hayden, when we have Cosgrove and Jaques?

Read the post you quoted again. They are clearly giving him an opportunity to make the World Cup squad, otherwise they wouldn't be selecting him in this current squad. But there's no point of selecting him in the squad and then not playing him.

Australia showed again why they r Australians. But I must say WI had the match in their hand.

Australia showed why they are Aussies? How, by showing us their passports?? I think you want to say they showed us why they are the best in the world...

Good to see McGrath as economical as ever, thank God he was there :)
Watson as I said some how manages to take the wickets. Johnson did well to get rid of Chanderpaul, he seems to be finding his feet now.

Fancy Cosgrove getting a wicket?

I knew there was something in his bowling :) Just like Boof, the mini one also bowls.

Oh, my god, How the heck did the West Indies lose?

Unbelievable.

Australia got out of that one, they're lucky.

McGrath made the difference as usual. Steady the ship when it needed steadying, and his arua must have flown on over to the other bowlers. Bracken took some pounding today, he basically let the Windies get off to the flyer.
