ODI Tri-Series (Malaysia)

I didn't mean it like that i'm stating as for example in football i don't think you can change your decisions with goals cards etc but in cricket you can change the dismissal decisions especially game changing ones, if this is a rule why isn't it used more often is the rule just there for style.
You cant expect every wrong decision to be changed. Only if the umpire is unsure about his own decision can he consider referring to the other umpires and making a change in necessary.

Besides, as great a batsman he is (I consider him the best), I really doubt he could have overcome that 127 run difference which seperated the two teams in the end.

Congratulations to the Aussies to another ODI series victory. Their record in this regard is just too good, and its amazing how they manage to get the results despite not playing the best cricket (or even after playing some poor cricket at times).

Perhaps i am acting a bit ridiculous the aussies played well not as good as they should but a great performance non the less. Hope india and the indies comeback strong for the ICC champions trophy.

Bracken-underrated bowler?

Now has a bowling average lower than that of McGrath, Lee, Murali, Warnie, Pollock

My God, we have one lethal lineup atm. When Bracken isn't getting smashed he can really produce a McGrath like effort. Only went for 2.3 today along with Lee who went for 2.9 and then McGrath going for 1.0.

Watson will come in handy for the Champions trophy, he always manages to get people out when needed.

I wouldn't go getting too far ahead of yourselfs just yet. If Watson bats then you're sacrificing a batsman, which good teams will capitalise on. Whereas if he bats down the order, Symonds is looked upon to bowl a lot of overs, again he's not the most reliable will the ball. Australia may be good, but they're a long way away from being unbeatable.

As did many people. When was the last Australia had a genuine all rounder?

They have one now. Jason Gillespie.

Anti-climax to the series really. It was a one sided innings to say the least. Aussies did all the right things, from winning the toss to bowling well from the first ball.

LOL. Watson > Katich so no loss there. Watson at opener means less reliance on Symonds bowling, so I see no problem what so ever with Watson opening.

What a boring end to the series? Absolutely pathetic

West Indies actually did themselves no favor by beating India. What the victory against India made was, it made the Australia work hard to reach the final. You've got to catch the Aussies when they dont sound that enthused. They clearly werent when they played the first few matches. But India's victory against the Windies and the final league match becoming a semifinal set the ball rolling. Australia got damn serious and that was bad news for West Indies

I would say, India being in the final would have been better competition. India were unlucky to miss out on the final. The rain came and spoiled their day in the first match and they were at the end of some average umpiring in the final game (the wicket of Dhoni off a no ball and Harbhajan's imaginary edge). When Australia won by as small as 18 runs, just the wicket of Harbhajan would have made the difference.

Also India's batting barring Tendulkar was pathetic to say it best! What Shastri says is right. Dravid has got to assert himself and stop being a dummy to 'Guru Greg'. Greg has spoiled our team. His mindless experiments are sure causing great problems to the stability of the squad! I would blame one person for this fiasco - GANGULY! He was the one who recommended Greg when Dravid, Sachin and Kumble recommended Moody! I doubt if Greg can take this team to the doorstep of World Cup win! India just doesnt possess the strength to pull off a WC win!

Just see the way Sreesanth was handled this series for a 'below average' RP Singh. I mean why is RP being preferred over Sreesanth? Agreed, Sreesanth was expensive in the early part of his career, but just when he was finding his groove, pushing him in the sidelines was ridiculous! I too preferred Sehwag in the middle order before but not Dravid as opener! And one more thing, Sehwag is a LIABILITY! Just see the way he got out in this tournament. Three times out of four, he got out to the incoming ball when he left a huge gap between his bat and pad. This team is known to have computer analysts and all those techie guys, but no one cant identify the problem and help Sehwag rectify it? People argue of Sehwag being an opener would have made things better. NO, just NO!! he is as bad as an opener. When in purple form, he is a savager. But just see for how long has he ditched us! 8 out of 10 times, he fails. India cant bear that type of a ratio!

I havent seen Sreesanth play, but from his stats, he is a useless bowler. Averages above 30 and has an economy above 5 in LIST A.

What is all the fuss about him?

The thing with Bracken is that he'll keep pitching on a length or a bit fuller, so if the batsman has good eyes he can get ready for it. He might get hit around from time to time, but he is generally good enough with his tricks that accuracy alone is all he needs to bowl well. However, if the pitch is favourable or conditions good for swing, he can be simply unplayable. The fullness makes the batsman want to attack, but the movement (and its variety, swing both ways, seam, or a cutter) deceive him.

Bracken has always been lethal if it's swinging, caused havoc in that ODI series a few years ago in India. With him adding the cutter he has become a more all round bowler who can bowl on most pitches. Definitely a good addition to our team.
