ODI Tri-Series (Malaysia)

I wouldn't be surprised if Lara starts to hit out and finish the game with boundaries. Certainly has been a rather exciting match, in terms of bowling wise, very rare do we see nowadays where the bowling plays a greater role than batting in a ODI game.

Its all over now.
India have won.
It seems that the Indians do have an edge over the Windies in low scoring games.
Great, now we just need to beat Australia to gain entry into the Finals.

A win at last !
After 7 long games.
Congratulations India !

HOLY SHIZNITZZZZ India fought back.
WOWza India wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a cracker of a game. India fought back really well and the inclusion of Sreesanth really paid off. Lara threatened to win it again for the Westindies in the end but lost all of his partners.

Yes Sreesanths' inclusion really helped.
For once i thought that our bowling was really doing well.
Munaf as fiery as ever.
Agarkar was simply majestic

Is Pathan's place in danger now?

i do not like sreesanth that much do not think he is all that fair play to india great comeback should be a cracker on friday i feel for the west indies deserved more you could say from this game

Fantastic resillience and determination by India. Result doesn't really matter for the WI but they will be dissapointed once again because of a collapse. This sets up an intriguing contest a couple days time.

ahhh crap i missed it!!!! wow it sounds like a cracker too!!!! :( im so sad now, stupid friend and her birthday!!! grrr im gonna hit her

West Indies would have batted better with their regular top order shape, but then we wouldn't have seen the cracks in the middle order.

Wait, we knew about those and they still couldn't fix them. Did the Windies gain anything from this at all? Maybe a bit of faith in Dwayne Smith. Good to see Collymore back, but he was a bit rusty. Still looked better than Fidel Edwards.

Well, they tried to sort themselves out. Their team is actually in good nick.

I think their current best XI is

Gayle bat 39 bowl 32
Chanderpaul bat 36
Sarwan bat 46
Lara bat 41
Morton bat 36
Bravo bat 23 bowl 32
Smith bat 17 bowl 32
Baugh bat 20
Bradshaw bat 14 bowl 27
Taylor bowl 25
Collymore bowl 35

And add to that, I prefer Denesh Ramdin over Carlton Baugh. I think just glancing at that, you can see why they can be so dangerous and also why they can be so fragile (and also why a keeper who could bat at 6 would be useful). On the other hand, they have some bowlers with serious tricks up their sleeves and the top order might be all that's needed for a 300+ total. In any case, I think things are looking very good for them.

I think the thing with the Windies are if you allow their bowlers to get on top of you, they will start to get the edge. This is what I saw when India toured the Windies just a few months back and also seems to be the case in this tournament.

Their batting has the ability to dazzle--any line-up that has Gayle, Lara, Sarwan and Bravo (and Chanderpaul for stability) will be able to do a lot--but not with great consistency.

Am I the only one here who is pissed off because Dravid is trying to push himself as an ODI opener?
I feel that he is putting his power as a captain to unfair use. Ganguly on the other hand let Sehwag have his position when Viru was an upcoming star. (I know for a short period of time Ganguly opened with Viru instead of Sachin but that was because John Wright wanted to continue with the left-right hand combination that had made Sachin-Ganguly one of the best opening pair of all time in ODI)
Sehwag used to play in the middle order in domestic matches but that never worked for him in international cricket.
There is something about Sachin-Sehwag combination that spells dynamite. Something that Dravid can never provide as an opener.

Yes, of course, I think he will miss the game against Australia!

And I was impressed with SreeSanth, his pace was consistently above 140! Even touched 90 miles once! He was even faster than Agarkar & Munaf! Now thats what I call quick!

Well, Sehwag as a middle-order batsman suits well! He provides some attack into the middle-order! And some stability is also needed in the opening slot! Dravid does that job very well, & so its just that he opens! :)

By the way,
Indian news channels are on about the Windies loss being a pre-planned ?
As in WI wanted to ensure that India reach the final and blah blah.
