Wow I wast just going through ABDs WC performances and what an interesting insight. He averages over 60 in all WCs but if we take out his performance against West Indies and Netherlands, that avg. drops down to just above 40! All his 4 centuries have come against these 2 nations, 3 against WI and 1 against Netherlands. I am sure we all know the quality of bowling attack WI had in these games. Not undermining the pick at all but I was myself surprised to see this.

Now that I see it, CK you had #3 vacant and who better than Kallis you would have hoped to pick! Great pick by Ashutosh that!

You have by far the most aggressive openers + pacers

You forgot Mahela in your XI

Lance "Zulu" Klusener should also be interesting. He had the highest batting average for most of the 2007 World Cup and handy with the ball.
Just my two cents if someone might be interested.

People would be interested in him. But it would be cool if you don't remind if someone has forgotten. :D
P.S: You know what I mean

Gary Kirsten

At one time Gary Kirsten held the highest score ever at the World Cup.

I am in a privileged position to be able to pick a South African that has actually lifted the World Cup, albeit not as a cricketer. In spite of this Gary Kirsten had established himself during his playing career as one of South Africa's most prolific openers, not least in this very tournament.

The best performance he turned out was in the 1996 World Cup as the fourth highest run scorer with 391 runs, contributed to by his bludgeoning of 188 against the UAE.

World Cup Record:

Played: 21
Innings: 21
Runs: 806
High Score: 188*
Average: 47.41
Strike Rate: 75.46
Centuries: 1
Fifties: 5

El Loco's XI:

1. Gary Kirsten
2. Sanath Jayasuriya
3.
4. Javed Miandad
5. Steve Waugh
6. Shakib Al Hasan
7. Andrew Flintoff
8. Richard Hadlee
9. Anil Kumble
10.
11.

I think I've found this round the most difficult yet having already filled my middle order.

You've managed to pick. Two good openers and your squad is full of legends. :rolleyes
