You can by choosing a different saved file I think.

ok well i am definatly in but i like have only gone through 1 year with middlex and that was on easy difficulty so i kinda suck so i'll most likely join a team.

There's no difference between starting a team or joining one.You can select any member of your team as team captain.My main concern atm is to get the teams filled with players so that we can get this moving.
