Open Beta Testing - [PCCS 0.1.5]

Nau, i face the same problem. It's been a part from and with the closed beta, Installed the latest updated of .NET framework (SP1) that is, but the error's going nowhere. I disabled the anti-virus for few runs but the problem persists, any help?

My computer knowledge is somewhere deep in my brain from the past 2 years. :facepalm
Can't really help because I don't know what the problem is. I need a more detailed explanation... If I can't replicate an error, I can't possibly fix it.

I'll try running it on a couple of virtual machines when I'm at work on Monday to get a better idea.

Did the match simulation start? What settings were you using for match simulation? If possible, please post a copy of your pccsdb file.

Yeah, sometimes, it starts and some times, it doesn't.
And, I'll give that after 36 hours as the Lappie in which I installed is not with me now:(

I tried it with WinRar, WinZip and 7Zip, but none of them did it...!! :doh

! C:\Users\Abhishek Sharma\Downloads\Google Chrome Downloads\PCCS_0.1.1 (1).zip: Unexpected end of archive

This is the message I get..:(

Sohum, I have a small query - was this created in VB.NET or C#? I'm trying to make a few programs in VB.NET but I'm pretty much failing horribly.

@yudi, that is because the download didn't finish properly. re-download it

I have downloaded it twice...
Downloading it third time now

Yudi added 11 Minutes and 18 Seconds later...

Finally got it and it totally rocks
Great work Sohum

When will the full version release?

A great simulator perfect for use with all sort of cricket competition out here on PC.
just some suggestions:
1.You should allow user to select bowlers(min of 5 and max of 7)
2.Allow user to select different bowling orders like we have in battrick, you can also find the over per bowler on the battrick too with each bowling strategy.
3.Ask user whether he want to simulate next innings or not, specially ask user to stimulate each day in Test matches too.
4.Allow user to save each day progress in Test as separate as well.

Hope you will understand them all.;)

hey i download the sim,but i get an error whenever i create a match, I have window 7
i have tried all of the following but i still get a error..Please Help

KNOWN ISSUES
Vista/Windows 7 permission issues
There are issues working with the Program Files directory in Vista and Windows 7. This includes opening up environment files and creating scorecards. To solve, do one of the following:

1. Run PCCS.exe with elevated permissions (Run as Administrator)
2. Copy the PCCS installation out of the Program Files directory into a local directory (C:\ or My Documents, for example).
3. Copy the pccsdb files out of Program Files and put them in My Documents or somewhere local. From PCCS.exe, open these files instead of the ones next to PCCS.exe. Save any scorecard files in a non-Program Files location, as well.

Did you enter all the required details? Please follow the tester's how-to to make sure you did. Otherwise, post a screenie of your create a match screen before you clicked the create button.

Thanks for the feedback.

1 and 2 will not be implemented because they violate the semantics behind the simulator. Constraining a bowling order is not realistic. When you go into a cricket match, as a captain you only have a general idea of who is going to bowl when. But requiring Bowler X to bowl overs 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. is not realistic. What if they get smacked around those overs? Instead, I've tried to make my pacing and bowler changing algorithms sufficiently intelligent to weigh economy versus wickets when determining what should be done at the beginning of each over. Anything more complicated (for example having a list of bowlers who can bowl and then choosing intelligently from within them) is a potential future upgrade that I'm not interested in at the moment as its out of the scope of the project.

With regards to the other suggestions, it's simulate, not stimulate. ;) Test matches will be simmed one day at a time. I have plans to allow for pausing and such, but those are not high priority items at the moment. The lowest granularity I'm going to go into is a session. So you can simulate one session of a day at a time before being able to pause. Of course, these will probably enter the UI late, but I'll build the architecture into the product.

when ever i click create it says PCCS has stopped working!

did you install .net framework?

@sohum
but a captain must allowed to at least choose first and 2nd bowler and then if they hit for plenty your algorithm changes them.
