Well it's yet another 'Australian Summer Of Cricket' only seems like yesterday when The Ashes was being held at this time when Australia won 5-0 in the test series, the last test series they played here. But this year the tension isn't as high or is it? This year Australia take on Pakistan in what should be an amazing summer Down-Under, let's take a look at what happened the last time these two teams met....

Australia vs Pakistan, 2004-2005 Series Recap!

1st Test: Australia dominated the 1st Innings with Langer making 191 and almost you could say carrying the team by himself. The only other person who made a decent contribution was Gilchrist with a promising 69 and Australia still managed to reach a 1st Innings total of 381. The Pakistani batsmen had it all to do but didn't do much at all Younis Khan got the highest score of the Innings of 42 and Pakistan were all out for 179 and from there on Australia had a straight road ahead of them...

Australia won by 491 runs!

2nd Test: Pakistan had first go at batting and didn't make a bad job of it at all posting a nice score of 341 and young Salman Butt (who will feature in this tour) made a good 70 and then M.Yousuf played a classic getting a 100. Australia then came out batted just as well making 379. Close contest then but Pakistan's downfall was their 2nd Innings in this test, as they only managed to post 163 runs on the board leaving Australia 126 runs to win...

Australia won by 9 wickets!

3rd Test: Salman Butt once again impressed as he made 108 as Pakistan got use of the pitch first up again, they posted 304 for their 1st Innings but would it be enough? The answer was no, Australia came out and hammered the bowling attack posting a huge 568 and got into a match winning situation in no time. Even though Pakistan made 325 in their 2nd Innings it wasn't enough as they set a poor target of 62 runs....

Australia won by 9 wickets!

3-Mobile Test Series Fixtures!

2nd Test - MCG

3rd Test - SCG.

So that's all for now stay tuned and catch us later on here on Nine Sports when we get to the countdown and have a few words with both camps and see if this tour is going to be a real belter or not!!!

I was at that game. The next day on TV when the commentator went, "Here today's Solo thirst crushing moment" it was when Ponting bought up his century and I swear it was be in the background clapping Punter's 100. Great times

Anyway, this is a good start though Australia only really plays 5 Match test series against England. Should be an interesting summer :thumbs

Might be biting more than I can chew (certainly eating more than I can chew atm...not funny?) but if I do everything in balance I should be fine, although my workrate will decrease as of next week back to college!!

Cheers will hope to update later tonight!

Half-term holidayz are two weeks for me! lucky me. Well good luck anyway!

1st Test: Post-Match Interviews!

Mark Nicholas: Well were moments away from the tour taking of and the excitment around here is ecstatic as the fans look forward to tommorow when the first ball of this beautiful Australian cricket summer is bowl at the 'GABBA, Brisbane' and we certainly can't wait. Another person who certainly can't wait is Ricky Ponting after leading his team to a 5-0 victory in the last series he played in homeland he's eager to play on home turf again, let's se what he had to say...

MN: Well here we are with the Australian Capitain Ricky Ponting, so Ricky tell us you say your eager to play again and lead your side out, now is some of this eagerness also confidence?

RP: Ah I suppose you could say that, we're pretty confident we've got a great crowd following us, and the Pakistan team is very young and they've got a young capitain in Shoaib Malik. So we'd wanna get him and his side under pressure from the get go and hopefully we can acomplish that tommorow.

MN: Well Pakistan have upset you in other forms of the game i.e T20, but you and your side havn't been challenged in this form of the game since Ashes 2005 I guess we could say, are you expecting a challenge from this young Pakistan side?

RP: Well you can't put anything past Pakistan, thats what I've learnt in all the time playing them as everyone knows their extremly un-predictable which is good and bad for us. And although the side's young I it has a lot of talent and talent that can do damage to the best of us, players like Sami, Butt, Nazir and then their mixed in with the seniors in Akhter, Yousuf and Y.Khan not to mention Shahid Afridi who can turn a game upside down on his day, so we have to be very cautios make sure we get on top of them and stay on top of them!

MN: Well that was the Australian capitan and boy he and his team seem set, now let's go ove to Shoaib Malik and see what he has to say about this whole tour and his teams mind-set...

MN: So Shoaib this is only the second time you've capitained Pakistan in a test series and boy what a bombardment first South Africa and now you have to try and overcome Australia, are you and your men ready and fireing?

SM: Yes our team is pretty confident were going to go out tommorow and try and enjoy the situation and the match and hopefully things will go our way. We know how strong Australia are but we have to try our hardest to stick it out and just apply pressure on them at the least.

MN: Well it's a long summer do you think your young side can handle it and how are these youngsters gelling with the seniors?

SM: Well the team is young but they know how to handle tight match situations and can handle pressure pretty well so I don't think there should be to many problems there the rest is down to their luck. Yes the seniors help out a lot we have a fresh atmosphere around the dressing room these days which is a big positive for us!

MN: Right, well best of luck to you tommorow and I hope all the viewers enjoy this exciting tour and this long and amazing summer!
