Story Pakistan in England 2006 Summer

Trescothick going at a strike rate of almost 4, but very tight bowling by Asif. Strauss has scored most of his runs off Shoaib, who has been replaced by Abdul Razzaq.

And following the dismissal of Andrew Strauss, the umpires have called lunch!

We'll be back in 40 minutes with the post-lunch session. (I'm going to keep going with game)

Welcome to our Lunch Break Show here on Sky Sports 2 during this Npower Test Series 1st test match.

At lunch, Pakistan made 597, and England have replied so far with 58 runs for the loss of Andrew Strauss.

Well Nasser, the game is quite even now, the openers, or I should say Strauss played well to get to his 44, and then well, what was that slog sweep straight to Abdul Razzaq about?

Nasser : Well Ramiz, if we look at this replay again,
straussout17ih.jpg
, it looks like Strauss got a leading edge while trying to play the ball behind square.

Ramiz : Pakistan would have liked to have England atleast 2 down at this stage, but Strauss has played extremely aggressively, to the extent that Inzamam was about to put 4 men on the boundary at this stage, and then bring them in when Trescothick was on strike.

Nasser : Well, it is interesting, but Trescothick has made only 9 runs so far, and I think he is looking to hit a big 100 here, as he has tried to play himself in, but has been going slower than what even he expected.

Ramiz : Well, time to go back to the game, all our UK viewers, please change to Sky Sports 1, and all other viewers, remain on your current channel. Viewers on SuperSport, please change to SuperSport 7.

::: Sky Sports 1 :::

Ramiz :Welcome back everybody, and out here in the middle, Marcus Trescothick and the new man in, captain of England, Michael Vaughan is walking in alongside him.

Nasser : Here come the Pakistanis, looking very happy, especially dismissing a very well set Strauss right before lunch.

would u like to tell me pitch report second day pitch report
picth is dusty or normal

I know all Pakistanis will curse me for this, and all English will cheer out loud, but when I opened by save game, it read 57/0 :(

I don't know how this happened, because I am quite sure I saved.

Very sorry.

England are 57/0, Razzaq coming in

It is lunch here at Lord's and England have made a very commanding statement

Let's take a look at the thrashed Pakistan bowling attack

pakbowling4fm.jpg

Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif kept things tight early on, but Razzaq and Kaneria have been smashed. It's too early to judge Shoaib Malik however.

Ramiz : Pakistan on the attack, but not able to get a wicket?

Nasser : Well Ramiz, Pakistan have to get a wicket in this session, and if they don't this will easily put England on top. Trescothick and Strauss's job is to survive this next session, and make some 100 runs. If they do this, there will be tremendous pressure on Pakistan.

Ramiz : The England line up, Vaughan, Bell, and Pietersen to come. Pakistan have a difficult job ahead of them in your opinion?

Nasser : Yes, I think it will be difficult. Vaughan and Bell can hang around, and Pietersen can hit the ball a mile, along with Flintoff. Geraint Jones is also there, and he can pinch in a good 40-50 runs. Pakistan have an enormous task to complete.

Ramiz : Thanks Nasser, We'll be back in 30 minutes with the Post-Lunch Session here on Day 2 of this 1st Npower Test Match.
