Central contracts announced. Surprized to see the exclusion of Ajmal and keeping Hafeez in A Category. The future plan looks clear. Stick with Hafeez as an opener

Why are you surprised about Ajmal? There is nothing left for him in international cricket. No point in having him part of the international time. Same would go for Hafeez, he too needs to be dropped for all contracts

For Hafeez, I am surprized that why he is still in A category despite worse performances and being out from the team and on the other hand you don't see Ajmal even in the last category. I personally feel Ajmal had left in him and his experience could have been utilized, The problem is that he is not in the future plans of PCB but he deserved another chance. He performed well in the domestic T20 being the highest wicket taker. At the moment, I am not sure how is going in QA trophy.

The issue isn't about him being a quality bowler, it's the time left in his international career. With the Champions League around the corner, and building for the future, it is not the greatest idea to incorporate a bowling attack around someone who will be in the international scene for maybe 2 years more. I reckon he is better of being a mentor to the likes of Asghar, Nawaz, Imad; who are likely to be the corner stone of future Pakistan XI.

Regarding Hafeez, I think the selection committee are just hopeful that is bowling clicks again he takes over as the 5th bowler role like he used to. His batting has lost his flair and consistency, and often leads other batsmen astray.

The same can be said about Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan. The PCB must be hoping that both veterans will give on the job training to their backup players which is fine with me IF they are expecting. Normally, things go on adhoc basis here and you know it very well. Then why not giving a chance to Ajmal IF he is "performing" 2 years is a big time man. If the team can win matches with his old flair that would be great and Nawaz can learn while playing with him. You got to try him once before writing him off like this.

He spoke against ICC rules and PCB as well that they didn't support him. I am quite hopeful that the PCB management must not be happy with Ajmal remarks... Who knows..

Sure with Hafeez argument but performance matters here.. How he performs with bat and ball is the question and does he have the old bowling flair with him. I just object his A category inclusion without performance...

The difference is, there is no tournament to build a team for in Tests, so you can comfortably have short term solutions.
I´m not sure Ajmal is playing QeA Trophy.

Recent buzz is that Kamran Akmal is quite disheartened because of non-selection and requested an appeal to Prime Minister straight away... I hope that kami's tears won't soften Inzy's heart and he will stay strong on his decision.... lol.....

On a serious note, He deserved a chance but not for Australia tour. You can't just put an old guy straight away in the test matches in place of a young talent who has performed well enough. I think Inzy did right not to select Kami for this tour.

No matter what he does, this cheater and Butt don't deserve another chance. And kamran Akmal that rodent whose pathetic keeping cost us Sydney is cyanide for our team.

If Amir is in the line-up then it will be unfair to Butt and Asif as all of them committed the same crime..[DOUBLEPOST=1481475398][/DOUBLEPOST]Butt played very well but got run out.

Perhaps if they weren't so arrogant it would be easier for them to come back into the XI.

Surely you're not suggesting that Amir was anywhere near as responsible as Butt and Amir (both around 30 at that time). Regardless of crime, I don't Pakistan going back on to old "talent" when we have such getting players in domestic.
