So, what’s next for Pakistan?

Personally, my aim would be the phase out some of the older player or give than a definitive role. For example, I would much rather Hafeez moved down the order as he can clear the boundary but there is no point having him in the side if he going to try and slot in at 4 and disrupt the structure for the top order.

Secondly, either Imad Wasim needs to become a proper allrounder or be dropped for a better all-round option. He seems to struggle with his batting, and at that position some power hitters are a necessity for Pakistan. His bowling isn’t good enough for him to play as the primary spinner for Pakistan.

No point having Sarfaraz come in the lower order, he is more of a rotator of strike rather than a power player. Should complement Zaman at the top and with the field up, he will be able to utilise it properly.

So, for the next series (which I have no idea who it is against), I really want to see a slightly different line-up.

Fakhar Zaman
Sarfaraz Ahmed :c: :wk:
Babar Azam
Haris Sohail/Umar Amin/Imam-ul-Haq
Shoaib Malik
Mohammad Hafeez
Imad Wasim/ Fahim Ashraf
Shadab Khan
Mohammad Amir
Hasan Ali
Junaid Khan

Not too happy about seeing Umar Akmal or Muhammad Irfan in the camp. Akmal keeps doing the same thing over and over again - plays decent innings and loses his head at the time of crisis by playing a stupid shot (Additionally, he is overweight and a joke on the level of fielding Pakistan showed in CT).

Muhammad Irfan seems a little old for a proper comeback. He has definitely dropped from around 145 kph to around 130 odd - and with better bowlers like Raees in the ranks, it would be a waste to have Irfan in the line-up.

The tall one is still suspended. This is the LQ one.

Ah, thanks for the clarification completely forgot about the other one. The tall one is already 35, so I doubt he'll play anyone international cricket.

I think Imad should be limited to T20s only. He is a defensive option in ODIs. Faheem should be batting at 7.

If sharjeel gets in so fakhar and sharjeel should be openers

That would be ideal, but I doubt that'll happen. Sharjeel is being probed and is likely to be given a ban.

I would much rather have a right handed aggressive stroke player at the top (not Azhar Ali). I feel the two would complement each other really well.

Here goes test captaincy to Sarfraz. I think it is a very balanced decision in current situation. Having one captain in all formats. Inzy always wanted that in the first place. Its a good decision to go :thumbs

Not all, Its the media who does such things in sub-continent, In a way they are helpless, As Sensation and negativity sells more

He's gonna lose one series and y're all gonna come for his head

It's not about losing rather about putting up a fight. I don't care if Pakistan loses a game/series if they put up a great fight. Like the first test in Australia earlier this year was exceptional fun - makes for excellent viewing.

With Sarfaraz as captain, I would hope for a more aggressive style of play from Pakistan, which should lead to better outcomes for Pakistan.
