Frankly, the only thing I liked in this warm-up is that Pakistan was actually playing like a warm-up match and instead tried few tricks before the start of WC. The only thing important is how Sarfraz and company will learn from their mistakes. Like when he bowled Shadab the second last over, I don't think he would have bowled Shadab with overs left from Aamir, if it was a real match.
Wahab was good at the end, but the concern is who will bowl well at the start of an innings and pick wickets. Most probably Pakistan will go with Aamir, Wahab and Hassan, so either Hassan Ali will have to bowl in the opening overs or Imad will start the bowling innings.
Imad opening would be suicide. Hasan bowled really well with the new ball in the PSL. He gets it to swing. Just need Aamir to pitch it up more.

Yes, Hassan should open bowling where there is some hint of swing, while imad is ok for flat/ little rough tracks.

By looking at India and Newzeland match today, I think we shouldn't be sure that in WC the wickets would be batting paradise. That is great for the competition. Wickets should provide support to seam and spin as well for a competitive tournament so if wickets go supportive, Pakistan would be having the good edge because of the bowlers.

The last thing Pakistan would be doing is further experimentation, I think we are enough of it. In today's match against Bangladesh, Pakistan should enter with full strength and should consider it an actual match rather than warm up.

For the batting my advise would be, don't bank on Hafeez and Shoaib too much. If you play them both in playing 11, boy they will eventually cost you.

On another note, The Format of this World Cup is similar to 92 WC. Nostalgia! :) I am also quite hopeful with Pakistan you never know when bowling clicks up and we will back. What we've been missing most from the side is getting wickets from the New Ball in early overs

I would also like to say that there is no hiding for Sarfraz in the top 5. He has to play at number 4 or 5, He has the capability to lead from the front with his batting, Can rotate strike very well and play long innings.

I think you haven't heard what the experts on Star were saying Yesterday. They said that this pitch would flatten out till the tournament starts. ICC didn't want wickets to dry up in the middle of the tournament so they have kept additional grass on the surface to keep the pitch fresh. So 90% of matches would be played on batting paradise.

You really think sarfraz will give Hassan a chance when you have Hasnain and Shaheen in your team :/
Glad to see Rizwan selected for Reserves

Just wanted to ask the Pakistanis here.. The template for ODI cricket has generally been to score @ 10 RPO in the last 7-8 overs till a few years back. I see a lot of Pakistan fans saying Asif Ali can provide this. I agree. But, I believe cricket and hitting has advanced further. I think teams like England, India etc can score @13-14 RPO in the last 7-8 overs and that means we are again back to square one where Pakistan just don't have enough fire power. Also, the other teams have 3-4 blokes that can go some but I don't see much in that Pakistan line up. Wonder what others feel?

agree. Sarfraz must bat at no.5 or 4. And depending on the situation we can use Asif Ali as a floater

Can't dispute the finishing power comment at all. The one thing (in the past) that has saved Pakistan from the level of assaults that they experienced in England series is our bowlers. We play on dust bowls in the UAE where the likes of runs are harder to get - so we fail to adapt to pitches around the world.

If anything, you can blame the PSL a little here. All of the successful teams will look to pack their sides full of international batsmen because having Pakistani bowlers is more than sufficient - which leads to a lack of development of that Hardik Pandya, Buttler, Stokes esque player than Pakistan need so bad.

I happen to follow some sections and shows of the Pakistan media and they're absolutely shameless. The amount of envy and criticism towards Inzy is utterly disrespectful and classless. It seems they're extremely sour about him drawing a salary as chief selector or traveling to England to guide the team. Unbelievable!

It's like us judging someone like Rahul Dravid if he travels with the team for the World Cup or becomes our selector. Value what you have and the service such a legend is providing. We have a captain with a psychological setback, a drunk coach and a joke in the name of a national selector.

Can someone tell me who this fool Tanvir Ahmed is?

Washed up ex-player with a big ego who thinks he would've played 100 Tests if it wasn't "Inzi's bias" towards him when he was captain. There's plenty like him in Pakistan.
He has a bit of a point in that Inzi kept Misbah out of the team in the mid-2000s because he was a critic of Inzi's "religious policy" (you can read about it here). Shoaib Akhtar and Younis Khan were against him too.
But Tanvir Ahmed is just looking for attention, just like other average former players like Sikandar Bakht.
