Pakistan tour of Australia and New Zealand 2023/24

I didn't see him initially then included him. He's still bowled half the overs and Shaheen has bowled more innings which is probably a better metric if you are looking at the frequency of which a bowler has to put themselves through it. In that instance only Southee has bowled in more innings than Shaheen.

The innings bowled is a crucial metric IMO. There’s a big difference between constantly bowling in multiple T20 games at full tilt over an average workload in a test match.

Another thing, the one England bowler who you could compare with Shaheen - that you'd probably want him to play most matches in all formats if possible - is Jofra Archer. And where's he? Playing club cricket in Barbados behind Rob Key's back. :lol

Jofra does have form on stuff like this. For example the alleged open secret that he bailed on a Covid bubble to attend to a Tinder match (this was reported as "feeding his dog" iirc)

Obviously this is so removed from a reliable source that I can't vouch for it, but it'd be very funny if true

I wonder if he's thrown a wobbly cause Key won't let him go in the IPL auction.

The interview where George Dobell springs on it Key is quite amusing.

RIZWAN HAS TO PLAY.

It is beyond mockery that one of the finest wicket-keeper batters this country has ever produced is forced to play backup to a washed hasbeen who hasn't got an iota of self-respect or the awareness that it might just be time for him to move the fukc on from cricket, at least at the highest level.

I agree - but Sarfaraz was the second-highest run-scorer averaging almost 100 in the recently concluded First Class series. A real indictment of the quality of first-class cricket at the moment.

Plus his CT17 win is keeping him propelled in the eyes of the media/selectors - arguably all the selectors are his buddies.

Opinion invalidated.
I mean be ffr, there's a but next to that but - the most-recent first-class tournament was played on literal roads! Lahore in particular had 500+ as the par score.

People in power in Pakistan living in the past is nothing new I'm afraid. Also, attributing the CT win solely to him is ludicrous. Amir in one game had a bigger contribution in that tournament win than Sarfaraz did all tournament. Please don't bring out his knock vs SL, we all know it only happened because SL themselves wanted to see Pakistan go through to the semis. They were dropping dollies like the phrase "Sri Lanka's GDP" was written on that goddamn ball!

Perhaps they picked Sarfaraz so he doesn't retire and they have to find a job for him

Time and again it proves what Akram has always said, playing the T20's and winning the T20's aint helping you in longer format. Bowling in 120's already at the start of the day, the steam is already lost and all these bowlers look beyond mediocre. Also I had high hopes from Shaheen atleast but he has looked mediocre since he came back from injury last year. Another fast bowler that Pakistan is going to lose.

This really helps me understand what Dravid and co were doing by letting players rest for series. Bumrah despite his injuries and time off has not looked off ever. This series will end yet another discussion that Shaheen is not even close to being the best bowler in the world. T20 bowling != test bowling.

Also what is Ravi Shastri doing commentating in a Pakistan Australia series when you also have a India South Africa series ongoing? Would miss his commentary specially in tests.

That was a great delivery by Jamal. Shaheen should have been bowling this line instead of whatever nonsense full toss yorkers he was trying. Batsman have too much time in hand and yorkers back to back dont work in test as much as it would work in limited overs. Great ball from Jamal
