Good batting pitch from all accounts

Hoping to see McCullum bring in some good form heading into the ODI series, especially with the smaller boundaries NZ grounds have to offer.

Yeah this is pretty ridiculous, it is pretty much the NZ team apart from Guptill. I cant really understand the reasoning behind this game. Most tours these days dont have warm up games anyway, could've had 3 tests.

It's got Watling, Brownlie and Franklin instead of Guptill, Taylor and Ryder. Interesting batting order on the Black Caps site though, they've got Vettori 6, Young 7 and Franklin 8.

Our openers are going pretty well though. McCullum should retire on 100 and let the others have a bat

McCullums being pretty selfish really. I mean its a tour game, completely agree should be retiring at 100. We need to give some of our other batsman a go.

Yeah I'm assuming thats probably what they are trying to do, we still have heaps of batting left. McCullum better get some runs in the test series after this knock. Because its 12 a side that means it isn't a first class game right??

Good to see McCullum and McIntosh get some runs, not really much from anyone else ATM though.

On a serious note, well played McCullum, for thrashing our bowlers around and making us look like a 3rd XI team. Hopefully he's got that "1 good innings" out of the way, and we can get him early in the tests.

^Going by that logic a fast bowlers should inform the umpire before he bowls a slower ball. I have seen Lee bowl a 95 KPH back of hand ball.

Haha i just now just glanced @ the scorecard for this game for the 1st time & saw the NZ XI team. Why have the kiwis played their best XI for a tour game?

Because they haven't played any FC cricket since the Indian tests, so they have just as much reason to have a warm-up as Pakistan does.

It makes a lot of sense to me for them to have a hit-out before the test series, but it doesn't make any sense to have them versing each other.
