Draft: Pane2ar Draft: Return of the Rabbits

Unlucky Dip Player #48: :wi: :bwl: George Gladstone Marais

Nominated by: @ahmedleo414
Received by: @Till Valhalla

Gladstone's first-class career was a unique two-parter: in the first game, he was rampant for Jamaica against the touring Englishmen. Weeks later, he was ineffectual for the West Indies against the same touring Englishmen. At that stage, Jamaica did not play regular first-class cricket, and thus that was the end of a whirlwind first-class career.

Till Valhalla's XI so far:
:ind: :bat: Kenia Jayantilal
:wi: :bat: Travis Dowlin
:pak: :ar: Imran Khan
:eng: :wkb: Richard Blakey
:ire: :bwl: Fionn Hand

Unlucky Dip Player #49: :ind: :bwl:David Johnson

Nominated by: @Till Valhalla
Received by: @Supreme General

A slingy fast bowler, David Johnson played twice for India during which he struggled desperately to hit a line and length. He tragically died at only 52 years of age earlier this year.

Supreme General's XI so far:
:wi: :bat: Stuart Williams
:eng: :ar: Scott Borthwick
:wi: :bat: Dwayne Smith
:nzf: :wk: Lee Germon
:saf: :bat: Robert Stewart
:ind: :bwl: David Johnson

Unlucky Dip Player #50: :eng: :x: Emile McMaster

Received by: @CerealKiller

The prototypical "we need a crap player" draft pick. Makes the English Charles Coventry look like Don Bradman.

CerealKiller's XI so far:
:ban: :bwl: Tapash Baisya
:eng: :x: Emile McMaster

Unlucky Dip Player #52: :zim: :ar: Gary Crocker
1727637997198.png
Nominated by: @Perfect Square
Received by: @CerealKiller

Gary Crocker's international stats aren't all that, but his story is: called up in the middle of the night to make his international debut the following morning. That wasn't ideal because he was 450km away at the time. He made it though, and made his debut of what would be a nine-cap international career.

CerealKiller's XI:
:zim: :ar: Gary Crocker
:ban: :bwl: Tapash Baisya
:eng: :x: Emile McMaster

Unlucky Dip Player #53: :eng: :bat: John Morris
1727638404413.png
Nominated by: @icyman
Received by: @Neptune

An unfashionable player who batted his way into the Test team anyway, John Morris might have got a longer rope if he'd had a different physique. But then again, perhaps he wouldn't have: this was during the peak of the cricket on drugs selection era.

Neptune's XI so far:
:eng: :bat: John Morris
:ind: :bwl: Iqbal Siddiqui
:pak: :bwl: Tabish Khan
:aus: :bwl: Pud Thurlow

Unlucky Dip Player #54: :eng: :wk: Arthur Dolphin
1727638820376.png
Nominated by: @ahmedleo414
Received by: @mohsin7827

Arthur Dolphin was a strictly specialist wicket-keeper and a world class one at that - he had to be, to keep his place in the Yorkshire team for 20 years. His son, also Arthur Dolphin, would go on to be a pioneering rock climber.

Mohsin's XI so far:
:pak: :ar: Asif Mujtaba
:zim: :wkb: Charles Coventry
:pak: :ar: Zafar Gohar
:ind: :ar: Baqa Jilani
:pak: :bat: Moeez Ghani
:eng: :wk: Arthur Dolphin

Unlucky Dip Player #55: :zim: :bwl: Ujesh Ranchod
1727639563261.png
Nominated by: @Yash.
Received by: @CerealKiller

Ujesh Ranchod is a hard man to find: as far as I can tell there's not a single photo on the internet, but there is a grainy video of him getting battered by Vinod Kambli in his only Test appearance.

CerealKiller's XI so far
:zim: :ar: Gary Crocker
:zim: :bwl: Ujesh Ranchod
:ban: :bwl: Tapash Baisya
:eng: :x: Emile McMaster

Unlucky Dip Player #56: :sri: :ar: Chamika Karunaratne

Nominated by
: @Yash.
Received by: @Neptune

Karunaratne's one Test match didn't exactly go to plan, but I really like him as a cricketer. He's an all-rounder in the mould of the T10 & T20 age: explosive, excellent in short bursts and extravagantly talented.

Neptune's XI so far:
:eng: :bat: John Morris
:sri: :ar: Chamika Karunaratne
:ind: :bwl: Iqbal Siddiqui
:pak: :bwl: Tabish Khan
:aus: :bwl: Pud Thurlow

Unlucky Dip Player #57: :aus: :bwl: Dave Gilbert

Nominated by
: @Aravind
Received by: @Aislabie

A good honest Shield & county seamer whose shot at the big time came when the first-choice bowlers had opted to go on a Rebel Tour, he wasn't much of a Test bowler but will certainly do a job in my team.

Aislabie's XI so far:
7. :pak: :ar: Shadab Khan
8. :ind: :bat: Rajagopalan Shyamsunder
9. :aus: :bwl: Dave Gilbert
10. :eng: :bat: Charles Coventry

Unlucky Dip Player #58: :ind: :bwl: Vivek Razdan

Nominated by: @icyman
Received by: @Perfect Square

An extremely exciting fast bowler who was parachuted into the Indian Test team without so much as a sniff of Ranji cricket: he was the real deal, but his uncoached action ruined his body in no time and he remains a case of what might have been.

Perfect Square's XI so far:
:ind: :bat: Devang Gandhi
:aus: :bat: Tom Groube
:ind: :bwl: Vivek Razdan

Unlucky Dip Player #59: :aus: :bat: Harry Musgrove
1727640930701.png
Nominated by: @Aislabie
Received by: @ahmedleo414

Another specialist batter with a sub-10 first-class average who played in the second Test after the entire Australian team walked out on the eve of the 1885 New Year Test. An actor by trade, Musgrove's performance of the character of a Test batter did not receive an encore.

Ahmedleo's XI so far:
:afg: :ar: Karim Janat
:nzf: :bwl: Brooke Walker
:eng: :bwl: Ian Salisbury
:aus: :bat: Harry Musgrove
