PC Public Preview Update Now Available

Hi everyone,

We've been working with the beta team on some updates, and we're ready to show off some of the progress made so far.

There is a build available right now on PC that you can opt in to on steam and try this out to give feedback.

To opt-in, right click the game in steam and select properties. Then select the 'Betas' tab, and select 'preview', then click close. This will then download the update containing the fix for this issue. You may need to restart Steam before this option will show in the list.

Update notes for this preview build are as follows:

- Added reset academy options
- Added option to have a real bowler as well as bowling machine for nets/ground training
- Added HUD enable/disable option to settings menu
- Enabled more cameras in ground training mode
- Fixed issue with uniforms not displaying logos
- Tuned stamina/confidence
- Tuned fielding, including wicketkeeper reactions
- Tuned edges
- Tuned AI batting
- Tuned ducking
- Tuned batting timing windows
- Online: Custom logos will be maintained after resuming save
- Academy: Can add players to teams with incomplete lineups
- Commentary/Sound improvements
- Stability improvements

And more to come!

Note: As this is a pre-release preview, there may be incomplete things. As a precaution back up your save data prior to switching to this preview release.

Please report bugs about this build in this thread, to avoid confusion with the console version.

To pre-empt the obvious question - I can't give a timeframe on this patch coming to console, and would rather that console stuff is discussed in another thread.

Enjoy, and let me know your thoughts on this update below.

One more thing. please add exact broadcast camera view for running camera used in ground tutorial. and keep all the current camera views.

Haha I quite like them ! Looks like it’s an early drive already through the shot and a edged pull ha

I have seen a few dodgy things happening, usually batting on lower difficulty when I guess the Shot Choice help kicks in.

A big offender seems to be the scoop/paddle shot which almost always goes completely the wrong direction.

Is that happening every time or are they just random edges? What sound does it make off the bat?
No not these , I am getting weird animations whenever i tried to play flick shot to outside off stump deliveries. Batsman takes coverdrive animation but ball is going to fineleg. It's happening frequently.

The input was for an on drive. So not really an edge but just the animation is incorrect.

Batting is fine Dutch, don't mess with it please,I am near the top of the table in my online league:)

Average online score in an ODI in my online league is 80 . We play on Legend mode. Anyone who feels its very easy to bat, come and play with us

Just always bear in mind , that Online dont have the "Quick Fix" option to fall back onto ie tinkering with Sliders if Batting is too easy/difficult.

We can only change the overall difficulty.

Updated *

This is only for Shorter Format on Hard/Legend

  1. Added option to have a real bowler as well as bowling machine for nets/ground training .
Fixed Far , Fixed Close have issues

2 . Enabled more cameras in ground training mode

Fixed Far ,Fixed Close have Issue . Broadcast camera 1 and Broadcast Camera 2 with running camera after bowling at the time switch to batsman there is very quick jurk

3 . Tuned fielding, including wicketkeeper reactions

This is an excellent change , and now fielders looks energetic with quick response also Wicket keeper reaction fast not expect Dhoni type but acceptable. No Preset changes noticed

4 . Tuned edges

I as bowlers get AI edges to wicketkeeper and somewhere else , But not 1st or 2nd slip too early to judge at this time , Also now As batsman I got out 2 times with edge to keeper

5 . Tuned AI batting

I know People will going to love this change , I have seen AI taking grounded runs 1 ,2 even 3 , sometimes play sensible some time aggressive

6. Tuned batting timing windows

This is now have been change its not too late and not type of before 26th aprill type patch , I can say Its now the mid of them two timing (26th april before and after patch)

- AI does not go for Loft Shot for every free hit . Play it casually .
- For Left Handed batsman 3rd Man not able to go for loft shot .

7. Stability improvements

No Crash Happened

NOTES : Pending Issues

1 : AI got silly run out , 1 time Got Other got back to crease , This Happens in Real But here look like robotic , Not got feel . As in real there is Player sound comes Yeessss ... Nooo..... for risky runs . Its should happen With AI too to get real feel .
2 : Even with all 3 timing on green I got Catch out in inner circle , Means Tuning to Powershots require it could be batsman stamina and confidence make the difference . In Test its OK as We mostly play grounded shots.
3 : Just As in real ... For ODI and T20 Field Placement is Very very important to the game, Captain Changes Fields as per requirement . This part also looks robotic No action Taken by AI for field change . AI should think as human to place a fielder against batsman. To Make Game Competitive This is Part of Improvement .

That's real good news.

Hardly any egdes in the todays build Ai vs AI games irrespective of the batters skill , was fine before todays build :(

I'm not sure what you're finding so difficult to grasp tbh...

There is a chance every delivery that the AI edges the ball, correct? There is a chance that the AI misses the ball and gets bowled/lbw? So why can't there also be a chance that the AI mishits and gets caught on the boundary? Or skies the ball in the air?

The problem isn't that the AI can hit sixes, even off good balls, it's that every single time they clear the infield the ball lands safe or over the rope. It's the same issue as with the prod shot: the AI can be allowed to cheat but it needs to be as well disguised as possible to avoid the player feeling like they actually have no control over the outcomes.
I've been away so haven't had much time on this build but gave it a little go this evening. Career mode ODI Eng vs Pak. When bowling (leg spin) I had three instances in the same match of a batsman going for a big hit and not clearing the boundary. Two of these still exhibited that lazy fielding thing where the outfielder runs towards the ball, stops to let it bounce, then collects it...and one had the outfielder sprint into position and take a catch! Rare indeed. Aside from the latter I couldn't detect much impact of the 'tuned' fielding. I still want outfielding to be more part of the game and be more exciting...it still feels a little predictable and rarely has an impact on the match outcome.

It was definitely a boundary fielder taking the catch and not an infielder running back?

I've bowled 400+ overs of one-day cricket since the April 26th patch and have never seen a boundary fielder take one.
