[PCCL 2010] Feedback Thread

Like I say, obscure countries would work best if we went with a particular time zone for each ground.

Yeah, I agree with Trev on that one, brilliant idea. So an examples would be,

Papa New Guinea for Australia
Kazikstan for India
Iceland for England
Madagascar for South Africa
Bermuda for America

We're going to stay away from international places, as that will cause confusion with the international part of the competition (yes, there is one). Like I said, let's just get sign-ups and the draft done. We'll have a warm-up Twenty20 tournament where we will try out several different timezones and then members can vote on what they want.

For the purpose of OD's we could have day and day/night games which should cover the whole spectrum. For T20's we could have morning/afternoon/evening games which would have the same effect.

Are we doing the Origins Trophy again?

Or will each country have a team this time

I was just looking at the fixtures, and it says that the current time is 21:06:34 on the 24th of July, but it's actually 2:06:xx on the 25th...

When will the matches start? It says 8:00 GMT for all matches, so that means the match ends at 11:00 GMT, like real-time?

That page should list the server time. Right now all games are scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM Central Time, which is 1:00 PM GMT.

It's about double the speed of real-time, so I'd guess it would end in about 90 minutes.

You should change all the GMTs on the page to Central Time then :)

I will eventually do something with them. But anyone who is confused can just use the current time as the reference (that's the main reason I have it there to start with, because I didn't want to get into the business of converting time).

Yea I got confused, saw the scheduled time of the match and was like sweet, that's 8pm here. But then I looked at the current time which wasn't what I thought it would be and realised that matches actually start at 1am :facepalm

Yea I thought it was GMT time as well. 8pm NZ time would have been perfect. That basically means for us in NZ, the pre-season tournament actually starts on Tuesday.

The timing is good for everyone but NZers, Australians who have work the next day, and Americans on the west coast.
