PCPL - Discussion Thread (All Owners READ!!)

Wish we'd talk about being human last season, eh?

Just a question - can anyone on a team increase bids / make bids / etc etc.

What you on about?

To your second question, preferably not, as it would mean if a player increased a bid, and the owners didn't want it, then the team would be in trouble for inflation. If you mean, YOU making the bids, then no.

Well we knew we would be. We just didn't bother telling anyone. I advised Rhys not to put a date as I knew it would slip...

Yeh, in retrospect probably not the best idea, but we always knew the dates were loose.

We're not running officially behind scheduale I suppose. More like running later than origionally planned.

Well then, I will attempt to alert an owner and remind him that we are losing an auction :)

I've already extended a bid (before reading this thread), as per team plan (which was told to all members), so if you really want to make such a big deal about it, then I'll go remind someone else to do it.

Yes I believe so.

Simbazz added 1 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...

Kshitiz, and VV, I think i've heard your feelings over MSN and I feel for you guys.

Its totally a dropped ball by us who run PCPL, mis-communication has happened and we cannot go back in time to change that. We try out damned best to get this league to run perfect, but we're human afterall and we're prone to making these mistakes.

Again, we're extremely sorry, but as Colin has said, there are still some great players out there.
I understand, no problems at all. The problem lied with more CC than the PCPL management though. :)

Don't sound like your hard done to, you are banned for reasons, which you know full well of. If it wasn't for NP10, you wouldn't be here, I'd go say your blessings.

I was wondering, can there be a kind of rule where in if a player in the draft wants to go to one team absolutely, he can go? Because if such a rule exists for the transfers, I see no point in it not being for the draft.

It wouldn't work. All you can do is negotiate with other teams who may want them not to pick them up or try and do a trade/transfer after the draft is over.

Well the problem is that when other teams would know they may specifically pick up only those and demand ridiculous prices just because they got a turn before us. And if teams could not force players to play in the transfer season, why in the draft?

Or could this kind of rule be enforced in the after-draft transfer period?

The players who left in the first transfer window had already played for a season for the franchise which picked them. New players may only leave in the post-draft transfer window if they and the club both agree.
With regards to the draft itself not every team will get the players it wants and not every player will go to the team that they want however this is part of the process and prevents all the Indians going to Chennai, all the Aussies to Sydney etc.
If you don't want to pay inflated prices for players then don't. Accept who you get and don't tell anyone you really want to pick them up, will pay anything etc.
