I would probably say Paul Scholes, fantastic example of someone who is superbly talented but does not get involved in the public limelight, not like your Beckham's of this world.

In cricket terms, maybe like other people said, he's a work horse and he only cares about test cricket! , so thats always a positive. He proved against India that he can now bowl well in countries other than England.

I have to say Alan Shearer, having being so close to meeting him, and growing up with him on the TV scoring and making himself a Geordie hero. You don't get many English strikers as dedicated to a team as Big Al was, well besides Michael Owen.
