Piano tips/sheet music

The most beautiful modern piece I have heard in a while.

Am tackling it now with some help from a friend who has been playing piano since he was a child.

Sheet music also attached for anyone who might fancy it.

Don't you have a keyboard/electric piano? Do the keys actually go that low :O

The Bach was very nicely played :)

I'm more impressed by your improv though, I played in my school's jazz band so slightly different, but I could not improvise at all :p

Thanks. Yeah, I love improvising. I struggle with sheet music. Just let me go at it!:)

Yes I have an electric piano but it is the full 88 keys which you need for this song.

Cheers Mark. Remember though, I started out where you are and give yourself credit you don't play too bad already! You obviously have musical insight and feeling. Stick to it and enjoy it. (Especially that last one!)

Me attempting Bach's Prelude in C from The Well-Tempered Clavier: film abruptly stops for some reason before the end and my playing gets lost a bit!:)

The slight rattle you hear is my foot pedal!:facepalm

And here a blues improvisation that gets lost a bit now and then as well!!!

Wow, Dutch - that is truly superb! You're a true musician, aren't you? Your fingers and hands look so relaxed as well - how long have you been playing the piano - did you do any Grades?

Thanks Steve,

No, I am an autodidact. I sometimes wish I had learned the techniques involved much younger...I would be a lot further than I am if I had been given lessons as a child.

I didn't start playing the guitar or piano until I was fifteen and have never had a lesson (well a couple of guitar lessons, but when the instructor told me the piece I wanted to play was too difficult I left and went to learn it on my own!:p)

My strength is improvisation. I can hear a tune and turn it into something very quickly. One of my best "jobs" was in a theater where I made up the music for this improvisation acting competition that was run there on a weekly basis. Loved that!:)
