I'm glad I've helped inspire you to write an ICC journal. :) I'll be looking forward to seeing if you can revive them from the brink of becoming known as upper minnows. Did you rush your batting and lose quick wickets from the start? Because it looks like you were at least 50 short of a defendable target.

Good luck anyway mate!

yes yes i did

next match: v Pakistan ODI International
team changes: none

managers thought: well the batting was better but the bowling was still poor

firstly thanks for my story inspiring yours:D
anyway to the game i believe you need to try and bat second as you know the runrate to go at.
that is my way of playing One Dayers anyway.
2ndly when bowling try and use the openers for 6-7 overs, then bring on spinners for their ful amount thgen bring on fifth bowler with 1 of the openers and then bring on the last opener :)

hope you do well Pinchy:D

next game: Pakistan final one day international in series
team changes: Collymore out Lawson in

managers thoughts: so close 12 runs off the last over then it was 8 off 3 then 4 off 2 LBW appel not out 4 off 1 and he played and missed again oh and the bowlers were really good bowling first

side note: thanks Treva for the tip at the toss just the best advice ever!

No, it's not the best advice ever. Say you're playing a pitch which is getting worse with time, and there is overhead cloud cover too, and you're given a decent target. You'd need some effort to get that! Also, you don't need 2 spinners in the Caribbean IMO, and Ryan Hinds is a great all-rounder. Godd luck and all the best for the tests.

you always need 2 spinners.
and who cares about the wether bowl first and you have a better chance of winning :)
good luck pinchy:D

After reading this, I decided to start a game with Windies. I won the ODIS 3-0 and am in the middle of the first Test, it's really enjoyable!

West Indies struggle in the bowling department in my game with them. There are loads of fast bowlers but none seem to do a decent job. Ryan Cunningham is a gem of a spinner and if I was to suggest anything else, bring in Baugh and Ramdin as your wicket keepers, Ive also found Dwayne Smith is a good pinch hitter in one day games opening with Gayle, they put on about 150 odd in 20 overs in one of my games.

Lara and Shiv had a 213* Partnership for me against Pakistan in an ODI. Shiv got 99*. :(

next match: v Pakistan 1st test
tem/squad changes: Jacobs out Baugh in

managers thoughts: first innings bowling terrible 1st innings batting fantastic with and unbeaten 207 from lara and end of innings 41 from Lawson better second innings bowling ecept for Lawson got injured and the second innings superb 141* for Gayle and 58* for Lara

side note: thank you everyone for the advice i'm getting i will use it some day
