Planetcricket Awards 2007 - Discussion thread

Big outlier when it comes to Post Contributor, the results were really unexpected. I would have thought Puddleduck, Almost Austwick and Manee to be the top three. Obviously not. The admins have fixed it again. :noway

No offense but i didnt really like the outcome of best young member, i think alot of people voted for the spin becauce he is a mod. I dont think he deserved it as he hasnt done much in the last year compared to the other nominees.

On the contrary, I almost completely expected barmyarmy to come away with top honours. He has definitely been a major contributor, whether it is just in sheer intelligence while posting or while he is contributing with patches and the like.

That's the way votes work, though. I guess we should be happy that PC doesn't using voting to determine mods, eh?

Congratulations to Suren and Colin. However, I am quite disappointed to see EA Cricket 07 winning the Best Game instead of my favourite option in the category- None :p. Although according to my calculator, 78.73% of the people voted for the top 3 games, therefore, 21.27% of the people chose none, which should've put it in the second place, in front of BLIC 07??

Its the members who decide the placings - have a word with 'them' ;)

There was more than 3 games up for nomination don't forget

Barmyarmy winning showed that quality not quantity matters. His posts are efficient either to help members with the playereditor or administrate the forum. I do not think he should have won since he does not contribute to all parts of the forum, but the parts in which he does are amazing. Same to Burma's Finest. It is the overlying votes also recieved for best download or graphics thread...etc...Evertonfan was a kinda deserving third but again I feel it is popularity from the superthread.

Sorry for the bitter rants, better out than in. Won't mention it again.

On the contrary, I think he does contribute to most parts of the forum. He contributes great posts, patches, news articles and on top of that he helps in running the forums too. He does an amazing amount work.

My point of view, that is how I felt...probably innaccurate, just wanted to vent because I kinda wanted to win it. Just ignore it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Manee. It's only an online forum, hardly the nobel peace prize is it?
