My prediction is that I'll mostly be floating at the bottom of the second division, I could surprise myself but I really doubt it.

I have a slight proposal to make here. Let all the top ranked teams play in Div.1. The rest can play in Div.2. After every six (change this if you like) games, the top 3 of Div.2 swap with the bottom three of Div.1. In this way all the games are competitive. After all we don't want to see the likes of Spin get trashed by me very often do we .

This way, the lower ranked teams can actually stay competitive and have a motivation to get to the top division. I think 6-8 games is a decent number as we don't want the divisions to stay the same all the time, though we won't get to play everyone in each division. Briggs can run the top division as he'll be in it and The Spin can run the bottom division. What do you think?

The problem with a method, as explained in one of my earlier posts, is that each season you get the same 6 teams being promoted and relegated as the promoted ones get killed and the relegated ones have a cakewalk.

Plus, Ive improved a lot recently which I am quite proud of. I would expect to survive in this Div 1 for at least one season.

Just kidding Spin! I'm sure you'll manage in Div.1. But wouldn't the same thing apply when you have mixed groups like you have now? The good teams will always be in Div.1, isn't that the whole point. The ones in Div.2 might improve over time depending upon the manager and might actually compete with the teams in Div.1 over time.

P.S: On second thoughts, you might actually struggle in Div. 1 .....

Ive looked at all the teams and 3 are very beatable, 2 others can be beaten as well, so dont write me off.

By mixing the divisions, we delay the predictability of promotions and relegations. By that point the lower teams could have improved!

I agree with Adarsh. In the current system, I could only compete with say, 3-5 teams in my division.
After the relegations and promotions, this is essentially what will happen anyway - all the better teams will end up in Div 1 (and some unlucky person in Div 2 gets bored s***less all season thrashing lesser teams). I would much rather have a system that is more competitive.

TBH it is more likely that the gap would close between good and bad teams

In the original system, he had a few to compete with...what I actually was trying to say, was that it would take a few seasons for the original table to look something like the one I'm proposing anyway. In this process, there would be less and less competition between the top of Div 2 and the bottom of Div 1 (who, I forgot to say, would be getting pretty bored with being thrashed).
I'm just saying, skip this process and start it off like that.

EDIT: Meh, the one problem with my system is hypocritical, what happens with promotion/relegation? I think Spin you mentioned that it would just be the same teams being promoted/relegated. There should be some way around that, for example you have to get a certain amount of points or NRR to be promoted/relegated. This woudl prevent that.
