Should the World League have a requirement for Youths?

oh ok. That could be rather annoying. But still it's quite an interesting idea because you can have advanced player tactics - you can tell the simmer how many overs so and so should bowl, who opens the bowling, who to put on if they're going for too many, who to bat aggressive, etc.

Yeah, it's good. Anyway, first match to start soon.

Division 1 All-Stars v Division 2 All-Stars - Match One

10 Over Update:

Patrick Gore and Mark Freedman opened the bowling to the Division 1 AS openers and Taj Alam got them off to a great start with 3 boundaries in the opening over. It was a very promising start from them as the openers looked to take control, but Freedman in his second over got the wicket of Caterer for 11 off 14 as he hit it straight up and Tait came around from midoff to take the catch. Alam really looked in form though scoring more boundaries and after 6 overs, Gore was taken off with figures of 0/23 from his 3 overs, Wasi Akrim into the attack. Freedman nearly got the huge wicket of Alam with a plumb LBW but it was a no ball. Freedman was taken off after bowling 4 overs for 1/30 and Timothy Rock was given the ball and bowled a good over, only conceding 3 runs as Division 1 All-Stars were 69/1 after 10 overs.

Summary:

Division 1 All-Stars - 69/1 (10.0 overs)

Taj Alam 40* (28)
Irving Skinner 16* (20)

Wasi Akrim 0/13 (2)
Timothy Rock 0/3 (1)

Last Wicket: Kris Caterer c. Tait b. Freedman 11 (14)

Overs 10-20 Update:

Wasi Akrim continued and Skinner smashed him for 6 the first ball of the 11th over. Taj Alam was given another life in that over as Sanchez put him down at first slip. Alam brought up his fifty with another boundary, coming off only 36 balls and the bowlers needed to get that wicket soon. Pickett was brought into the attack in place of Akrim for the final powerplay over and got the breakthrough, but it was Skinning, who edged it onto his pads for White to take in at silly point. Timothy Rock couldn't make a breakthrough and was taken off after 4 overs with Patrick Gore coming back into the attack. Gore and Pickett kept it nice and tight for the next 3 overs although not taking a wicket, only conceding 11 runs and the Div 1 All-Stars were 130/2 after 20 overs, with Alam still unbeaten on 77.

Summary:

Division 1 All-Stars - 130/2 (20.0 overs)

Taj Alam 77* (54)
Alester Khozo 9* (21)

Gordon Pickett 1/15 (3)
Patrick Gore 0/30 (5)

Last Wicket: Irving Skinner c. White b. Pickett 26 (37)

This innings is going to be boring. I want to get my bowlers on and rip through them!

Overs 20-30 Update:

Pickett continued, looking for the big wicket of Alam, and got it with the first ball of the 21st over as Alam mistimed the sweep shot and it just popped up for White at short leg who took the catch and Alam was out for 77. He then bowled 5 dots to take a wicket maiden. The Div 2 AS side started to get on top as they slowed them right down and Timothy Rock was given the ball again to replace Gore who still had 2 overs left. He did concede a few runs in his next 2 overs but Pickett was right on top as he really slowed down the Div 1 All-Stars. Kanti Sivasubramaniam's finally fell though for 6 off 20 when he played all around a straight ball from Rock. Pickett went on into his final over but conceded a fair few runs with 10 coming off the over as he finished with great figures of 2/33 from his 8 overs as the Div 1 All-Stars were 172/4 after 30 overs, with the game in the balance.

Summary:

Division 1 All-Stars - 172/4

Alester Khozo 37* (48)
Quinn Campbell 8* (6)

Timothy Rock 1/48 (7)
Gordon Pickett 2/33 (8)

Last Wicket: Kanti Sivasubramaniam b Rock 6 (20)

Division 1 All-Stars v Division 2 All-Stars - Match 1

End of Innings Update:

Timothy Rock bowled out his final over, conceding 7 runs to finish with figures of 1/55 as Akrim and Freedman then came back into the attack. Freedman struck with his first ball when Khozo inside edged a good length ball through to Pienaar. Akrim then removed Cawse for 7 in the next over as now the Division 2 All-Stars were getting on top with the Div 1 AS side 196/6. Campbell tried to improve the total and started to do so before Gore was brought back into the attack and trapped him in front first ball and Campbell was out for 20. The pace bowlers finished the innings off strongly, having not conceded a boundary in the final 8 overs to restrict the Div 1 All-Stars to 220/7 and it was going to be a very close match.

hmm probably a bit too aggressive at the start, they couldn't really utilise the last few overs which were probably powerplay ones properly

Division 1 All-Stars v Division 2 All-Stars - Match One

Second Innings - First 10 Overs Update:

It was going to be a thrilling chase and Pienaar and Sanchez were at the crease, with John Coleman opening the bowling, and Darren Cawse from the other end. Pienaar started well with 2 boundaries off Cawse but Coleman had him trapped in front in the third over for 12. Cawse then dismissed Sanchez for 10 and the Div 2 All-Stars were already on the back foot. White and Skeete had to consolidate to keep them in it and batted out as Tindall kept Coleman and Cawse on, trying to get that third wicket but couldn't, although Cawse should have had Skeete back in the pavilion, when Caterer dropped him at second slip but the Div 2 All-Stars were 38/2 after 10 overs, with still a mountain to climb.

Summary:

Division 2 All-Stars - 38/2

Andrew White 7* (11)
Patric Skeete 15* (30)

John Coleman 1/13 (5)
Darren Cawse 1/25 (5)

Last Wicket: Carter Sanchez lbw b. Cawse 4 (10)

Nah, the first 15 overs are powerplay overs and that's it.

And I'm just playing the game during the breaks in the AFL :p

Has Cawse used his yorker ability yet :spy

Second Innings - Overs 10 to 20 Update:

Kenneth Wood was brought into the attack in place of Coleman and got hit around a bit in his first over, going for 11 runs. Tindall brought himself on from the other end to replace Cawse. The batsman tried to knock him around for the singles but it was the final ball which did the trick, beating White in flight and was bowled for 15. Wood was copping some stick from the other end though as he went for 31 in his 3 overs, before being taken off for Krishnamma and the change worked perfectly when Mosely was bowled for 28. Tindall was taken to a bit at the end of his spell as the Div 2 All-Stars had worked their way back into the game to be 118/4 after 20 overs, although probably would have liked to have not lost that many wickets.

Summary:

Division 2 All-Stars - 118/4 (20.0 overs)

Patrick Skeete 45* (50)
George Tait 12* (11)

Ajitapala Krishnamma 1/10 (2)
Fred Tindall 1/38 (5)

Last Wicket: Kenrick Mosely b. Krishnamma 28 (23)

----------

Division 1 All-Stars v Division 2 All-Stars - Match One

Second Innings - Overs 20-30 Update:

Krishnamma continued his spell as Skeete brought up his fifty with a boundary but was bowled the next ball as Krishnamma had taken his second wicket. Wood was brought back on from the other end and again was hit for more runs from the first over but came back strongly with a tight over before trapping Tait in front for 26, bringing Timothy Rock to the crease. Wood went on to bowl out his 8 over spell, finishing with 1/51 as the Division 2 All-Stars had again managed to keep the bowlers out in that last 4 over period to be 165/6 from 30 overs, leaving them 56 runs to win from the final 10. It was going to be an extremely close match.

Summary:

Division 2 All-Stars - 165/6 (30.0 overs)

Wasi Akrim 23* (32)
Timothy Rock 5* (12)

Ajitapala Krishnamma 2/37 (7)
Kenneth Wood 1/51 (8)

Division 1 All-Stars v Division 2 All-Stars

Second Innings - End of Innings Update:

It was going to be a very close finish and Krishnamma bowled his final over. He conceded 4 off it to finish with figures of 2/41 from his 8, a very good spell of bowling. Tindall came back into the attack and bowled a good over, only conceding 3 runs as the required run rate crept up to over 6. Cawse came back on as they continued to stay on top as the Division 2 All-Star side needed 37 runs off the final 5 overs. Coleman kept them on top with a great over and it now seemed like the Div 1 All-Stars would get home. Tindall finished his spell strongly with 1/51 from his 10 overs. It came down to the final 2 overs, with 21 runs to win. Cawse came on to bowl his final over and it was perfect, only conceding 5 runs. Coleman was cool under pressure and only conceded dots for the first 3 ball as Akrim and Rock failed to get him away. Akrim hit a boundary, albeit too late leaving 9 runs to win off the final ball and it only went for a single anyway, as Coleman finished with 1/32, the Division 1 All-Stars winning by 7 runs, Akrim finishing 42* and Rock finishing 33*, but they had failed to score quickly and it ended up costing them. Hopefully the next 2 games would be just as good.
