according to Batstats I'm at 159, calculated it out and got 159 so pretty accurate stuff, though I'm stilling questioning the fact that The Kings can always pull a Houdini against teams having a higher Batstat rating lol

I started pondering this. I know it's just for fun and not much of a practical tool, but when I thought about it (and toyed with it a little), I was surprised how dodgy it is.

Top order versus middle order: You'd probably expect that if you shuffle around, the ratings stay at an equilibrium, but in some cases, that's not quite the case. You can create better ratings if you do something like put your worst and best batsmen in the top order and everyone else in the middle. Generally it makes best sense to put your best batsman up the order, but you can be rewarded for not doing that.

Lower order versus fielding: I really question whether a woeful lower order has the same effect on a game as having remarkable fielding ratings. In any case, creating a team with such good fielding is a hell of a lot harder than a woeful tail.

Bowling versus batting: Considering the numbers of each, it is obvious, but think about it. 5 bowlers worth of masterful is worth less than wonderful batting in the top 7. It's a big gap and I know what I'd rather have.

And of course, if you find the reporter's ratings themselves to sometimes approach useless mystical gibberish, then obviously basing any other system on them is going to inherit that.
