Match 3, Round 1

Aamer's Hattrick helps Multan to win a close encounter

Mohammed Aamir celebrating his maiden Hattrick

Mohammed Aamer's Hattrick towards the end of the match won the game for Multan Muggers.
It was one of the most interesting match ever played in T20 history.Rawalpindi didn't have a good start as they lost their first wicket on 13 on an in-swinger from Aamer. Later on 2nd and 3rd wicket were also lost on the score of 28 and 41 respectively and it was looking that Multan will easily win it but true partnerships between Akmal and Dravid of 71 runs and then 65 runs partnership between Akmal and Shafiq almost took the game away from Multan.

When Dravid joined Akmal, it was one of the most crunch situation. Match could move in either side but Dravid truly help Akmal to built an excellent partnership. Dravid played classic shots on every side of ground and was looking unbeatable but on 112(team total) he missed one spinning ball from Fawad and was given LBW. Though he was unlucky as it was bat first and this decision proved deadly for Rawalpindi in the end.

2nd great partnership was again between Kamran Akmal and Asad Shafiq which put 65 runs on the board in no time. Kamaran and Asad equally participated in this chase. On 177 a fast booming ball bowled Shafiq, who was on 32 at that time.

After the addition of two more runs crowd watch one of the most interesting over of all time. 19th Over started with a wide ball but then Aamer came back as a true fast bowler and clean bowled Akmal who was on 78 at his departure. Then it was all end for Rawalpindi Rams, Swann was Caught Behind on the very next ball and on next ball he bowled Rauf to complete his first Hattrick in his cricketing career.

After this blow Multan can't forget last over by Chris Gayle who dried all the runs for Rawalpindi and eventually leads Multan to an emphatic victory over Rawalpindi Rams by 3 runs.

That is some sexy layout S2Y. Glad to see this back and running. Maybe send a PM to all the team owners to let them know it is back on.

Thanks treva I'll PM them as I am also starting a thread for round 2 lineup so I'll PM it once for all.

Stunning graphics and presentation send2yaari. I'm looking forward to seeing this back and up again.

Nice to see a win in my first game, what top bowling by young Aaamer! Some lovely pres. S2Y, probably the best in this forum.

Presentation is brilliant as always Aoun. Great to see this back on. Hopefully you can continue your superb work. The one thing that I believe you can improve is your grammar, there are a few mistakes at times, other than that its spot on! Your "website" asily better than the current PCB's.

19th Over started with a white ball but then Aamer came back as a true fast bowler and clean bowled Akmal who was on 78
Typical Pakistanis eh? Aamer started with a white ball but I presume he switched to a red one and Akmal was caught unaware :):p

Seriously though, those graphics are just sensational...

^^ That's happen when you write from the mobile, I updated it from my mobile in university so forgive me for all these mistakes.
Nevertheless thanks for your appreciation at least you are reading that's why you are pointing mistakes, hope I'll not repeat them again.

Should I continue with Match pionts or net runrate must be there instead of match points?
Also I am going to create a thread for 2nd round lineups though there is still one match to go in this round but it will give more time to every owner and preventing from delay.

NRR is ok, TBH, if the match points take significant amount of time, then I'd recommend you to drop it.

Match 4, Round 1

14th March 2010
Swat Superstars clinch thrilling victory
Swat Superstars won by 4 wickets

Angelo Mathews and Rana Naved

A bludgeoning late innings fightback from Angelo Mathews and Rana Naved steered Swat Superstars from the brink of oblivion to a stunning four-wicket victory over Peshawar in the first Twenty20 match in Sharjah. The Superstars appeared to be in dire straits after losing five early wickets, but Mathews and Naved belted 36 runs from Panther's 16th and 17th overs - including 21 from Yuvraj Singh' final six deliveries - to turn the match on its head.

Abdul Razzaq called Yuvraj and Morkel to bowl out the final overs, and neither could wrest back the momentum for the Panthers. Razzaq, hammered by Shehzad in his first over, conceded 14 runs from the penultimate over of the innings, and Mathews closed out the match in emphatic fashion by smacking Morkel for consecutive boundaries to seal victory with four balls to spare.

Shehzad was looking very aggressive in his small stay of 19 runs but soon his was caught in the team by skipper on a mistime shot. Swat's top-order soon followed him back to the pavilion and Panthers, riding high on the back of Irfanuddin brilliant bowling effort, seized the ascendancy.

But, Mathews loomed as a potent late-innings threat. After Naved fell to Umar Gul for 37 (from 19 deliveries), Mathews comfortably negotiated the final overs to finish with an unbeaten 36 from 22 deliveries and steer his side to a victorious 168 for 6.

Bazid Khan Playing a Square cut

The result did little justice to the brilliant solo-performance of Bazid Khan. His sparkling 88 not out off 44 deliveries held together Peshawar's otherwise indifferent innings undoubtedly brightened the day of his Peshawar's paymaster.

Sent into bat by Kumar Sangakkara on a bouncy Sharjah wicket, Peshawar's opening combination of Imran Nazir and TM DIlshan were effectively muzzled by Swat's new-ball pairing of Rana Naved and Mashrafe Mortaza. The pressure eventually told on Dilshan, bowled attempting to lift the scoring rate by Naved, and Yuvraj Singh followed nine balls later also attempting to blast Peshawar into the match.

Nazir went some way towards booking his ticket for the World Twenty20 with an innings of 38 off 29 balls, highlighted by a sequence in which he hammered Zahid for a six and two boundaries in an over. But just when the Peshawar-contracted opener appeared set to take control of the innings, he fell to a sharp return catch by Mansoor Amjad and triggered a calamitous few minutes for the Panthers.

Taufeeq Umar was run-out from the very next ball, and Zulqarnain Haider caught in the deep three deliveries later. Neither batsman troubled the scorers, and left the Peshawar innings in strife at 71 for 5 after ten overs - a position from which they never fully recovered, despite the Bazid's late innings pyrotechnics.

Bowling was also pretty from Panthers, they give too many wides and when your captain hit for 40 in his 4 overs, it stand very less chance for other to recover. On the other hand Swat was good from the start, though they were hit for plenty by Shoaib Khan but they keep the pressure from other end which in last made the difference between both teams.

Wonderful knock from Bazid Khan, shame he couldnt find much support from anyone else. Needed Razzaq or Morkel to blast at the end but both failed. Mansoor Amjad also bowled pretty well.

Superb finishing from Mathews and Rana. Poor captaincy from Razzaq there, he should have saved Gul and/or Malinga for the death overs, those 2 are the best at this in international cricket.

Better writing Aoun. There are a few strange points, in the second paragraph you mention Gibbs, Boucher, and Geeves neither who are mentioned in the scorecards. Also, it says in the 2nd para, that Razzaq called Morkel and Yuvraj to bowl the final overs, but in the bowling stats its Razzaq who bowled the final over.

God, those graphics are eye candy! I've said it once and I'll say it again. Do you do some sort of web design course at uni?
Anyways, nice running of this league/story thing. Not many others have managed to run a league as a story, so this is a pretty good effort.
