PSP (Buy it or Not)

its great, i played fifa 06 on it, and founnd it more fun than the PS2 version.

so what? better GFX, more memory, Internet use alot of things.. you can get a cheap one like mines 600 pounds not bad for a laptop.

If you can get a laptop for 600 pounds(with good graphics and all), then i would buy a laptop rather than a PSP...

people agree with me on this, PSP Graphics are not that good, my laptop has better GFX then it, because I 'know i've played on PSP, sux, only thing good is it's portable (so is my laptop), good for music and media stuff (so is my laptop) so just get a laptop if you want a portable thing or wait for PS3.

Well you don't say?? Compare the size and hardware of the PSP and laptop. You can not compare a PSP to a laptop as they are both totally different. PSP is primarily aimed for gamers while laptops are aimed for businesses and people on the go. PSP is used for leisure times while laptops are made for work.

Games on the PSP are improving now, in the initial stages it was very slow. Very few games were released and many of the games were quite tedious. But currently, new and exciting games such as Tekken, GTA:vice city stories, Final Fantasy and many others are bound to release on the PSP in the near future. The graphics are quite impressive in some games such as Tekken and are about on par with the PS2.

so what?? So you're saying that price is nothing in todays world. Laptops are more than triple the price of PSP (at least here in Australia) and more often than not you will want to buy a quality laptop so it is durable and you can use for say more than 5 years.

I presonally never liked the PSP too much. What's the use of it unless you are going outside for a long period of time? If you have a PS2 at home, then what is the use of the PSP? It's just your PS2, without the use of plugs etc, but with slightly worse graphics.

Ummm that is the reason why it is called a Playstaion PORTABLE. So you can play while on trips to and from uni or elsewhere. Obviously you will play the PS2, XBOX360 and other consoles ahead of the PSP at home.

I'd say if you want to play decent games - buy a PSP. You will have fun. Its only other tremendous use is its WiFi browsing. Thats the best - supports Javascript and Flash. And its good for those late night...ahem...web browsing..

Rest all features of PSP are crap - music, video etc. Photo browsing is fine however.

On to games - Its got some good, exciting games with good graphics - GTA, Socom, Virtua Tennis, Burnout, NFS, Lumines, Wipeout to name a few.

Bottomline - its a decent gaming device with modest-to-crap other features. I have it and I absolutely love it. However, not many compelling games on it.

Never bought the DS as it looks like a 9 year old girls make up kit. That wouldn't have been a problem, buts its games are also suited for that age group - all kiddie games. So gifted one to my 9 yr old niece.

Finally a sensible post and someone who has actually thought about what they typed.

Well you don't go on a trip everyday. I am not saying that it's not good to take a portable games console with you but I am relating to the price. Is it really worth it? Is it worth buying if you use it so very rarely?

I shall tell you onr thing. Better than a PSP are many many smartphones. Take a motorola A780 , or O2 XDA, or maybe nokia E series. I'll tell you, they'll give u much better graphics than a PSP, they are touchscreen, have built in joysticks, more processor speeds than PSP. Moreover, huge HD's, plus a phone itself. Its a complete package

psp's graphics are bad !! cmon they are on par with the ps2 if not better.all those who say that have you guys played
riiiiiidge racer,tekken,spyphon filterand daxter(better than ps2) and from when did the graphics becaome important in a handheld ,if that was the case nintendo would have been bankrupt..
comparing the ipod to psp is another bullsh!t,sound on ipod is better but what about video on that teeny weeny screen.

games (as good as the ps2 and dreamcast)
wifi gaming
flash player
location free player
rss channel
connect to the net wirelessly
psone games(coming soon)
take photos ( '' )
play nes,snes,megadrive etc etc games
and more(once the ps3 launches) and then fit inside your pocket.

is someone saying smartphones ,well then god bless you
tell me one smartphone game that can match tekken

also one of you compared the psp to laptops,unless the missed something or my country has been bombed back to stone age from when did ppl start comparing f-16's to boeing 777 they are made for different purposes my dear.

also one of the major major reasons psp dosent have gr8 games (so far) because the developers tend to just port their ps2 game onto the system very few actaully start from stratch apart from the above mentiones games has anyone played LOCO ROCO.(also its been only a year since launch how many gr8 titles did ps2 have after a years launch)

most of the ppl here who say the psp is crap have never played it themselves

but my parents don't let me play PS2 apart from weekend but if i have a PSP i could sneak into my bedroom and play there for hours...without them knowing ofcourse...

hey i am usin psp since a long time even though games are expensive but i think they are cool like gta godfather pro evo soccer etc.....and for those who say that the video sucks i say a movie is soo fun to watch wid the headphone of the psp as watchin in a cinema...and the graphics dont suck at all ...i think the guys here are comparin it wid the ps2 or xbox ....plezzz itz a portable console and thousnd timess better than any other portable console unlike guys like usy who roam around wid his laptop all the time the way he is comparin them
