Quarter-final 1: Netherlands v Brazil, Friday 2 July 2010 at 14:00 GMT

I think the Dutch can upset Brazil. But its going to be a classic never the less. If the still vulnerable defense can stand firm, who knows.

Robben vs young left-back Bastos, is going to be a key battle in the game.

Yep so i suspected, it was indeed one of the key battles of the game.

Amazing result - I hope Holland go on to win it now - they're overdue a win.

Oh Guys you will not believe how crazy Holland is going at this moment. Utter mayhem where I am....35 degrees and beer flowing like the Niagara Falls....go Holland!

Holland FTW! A big chance to reach the final now. Hope to see Holland vs Spain in the final. :D

please do not confuse me with all different names! :noway

What a match it was. The best match so far in the tournament. The Netherlands could have finished off Brazil in the end by 4-1 or 5-1 if they take took their chances.

In the first half I didn't understand what the Netherlands were doing. They weren't really putting any pressure of the defense of Brazil. But all that changed after the 1-1.

The annoying thing was that all the Brazilian players targeted Robben and there were a lot of fouls on him.

Funny thing was that Sneijder scored a goal with his head.

The Brazilian players were pretty supportive after the end of the match. They said that the Netherlands deserved to win this match.

It's going to Netherlands vs Germany finals and Germany will win it !

Man Brazil were totally lost in the second in the 2nd half. Luis Fabiano did nothing in the whole game, Robinho and Kaka were decent in the first half but in the second half for Brazil, no one seemed to be playing well.

That was a shocking one. I was supporting Brazil!:facepalm

The result of this match led to this:

World Cup 2010: Brazil sack coach Dunga

Dunga has been sacked as Brazil coach following his country's quarter-final exit from the World Cup.

A statement from the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) confirmed the former captain has been dismissed, along with his entire coaching staff.

Dunga, 46, who returned with his squad to Brazil on Sunday, had already said he was likely to go after the 2-1 defeat by the Netherlands on Friday.

The CBF revealed that a new coach would be installed by the end of the month.

Dunga had hinted that there was a chance of him returning as coach, telling a news conference: "I am going to rest before meeting, in one or two weeks' time, the president of the CBF, Ricardo Teixeira to talk about it (extending his stay in charge)."

However, the CBF quickly ended any hope of another contract.

The first big challenge for the new coach will be the 2011 South American championship - the Copa America - due to be held in Argentina.

However, the 2014 World Cup will dominate the agenda, particularly as the tournament will be held in Brazil for the first time since 1950.
