I've been called worse by better

Oh forgive me for trying to have a conversation with another person about firearms. Forgive me for trying to make a convo over a common interest. I will try again when your off the rags :cheers

Not sure why I am bothering with this, but this is why I called you out.

haha COD is unrealistic everytime I play as a American and fire at the British soldiers they don't die....

I initially posted about collecting a Soviet long rifle that was used in WWII. You replied by showing me a picture of an anti-vehicle round 20mm rifle and called it a sniper rifle. That obviously shows you have no knowledge about firearms. You do have some reasonable google skills.

Then as soon as you mentioned COD and whatever the hell followed that sentence you entered the realm of the ------. Someone who has probably never held, let alone fired a gun and bases all their knowledge of firearms on video games. Now this would not be so bad, that is until what followed.......

I like to talk about firearms. Military or Civilian. I was actually 7 years in the Police service of which my last 5 years was as a detective.

So you managed to serve two years as police officer, including SWAT and then 5 years as a detective in your 7 year career. That would be the Asian Dooger Houser of law enforcement, which I am sure you are not.

My fav part of the training was the SWAT training as you fired all kinds of weapons and the jungle lane with the 12 gauge.

ah yes, all police officers love firing all kinds of weapons. It's the best! cause it's so unique and a once in a lifetime experience for them.

Some of the woman was crying of the way the 12 gauge was hurting them so I told them to slip some of their rounds to me lol. They let us fire 50 rounds with it at a time and for a woman that can be a painfull experience especially those who never touched one.

Women are not in SWAT, they are not even in basic army combat units.

You must google for Funny Gun accidents. I think its at military.com or something can't remember the exact addy but you should find it with google. You'll piss yourself over some peoples stupidity :D

The first thing you'll notice about anyone ex-military or ex-law enforcement is how uptight and nazi they are about gun safety. You are obviously someone who should never own a firearm.

in short

you are a moron

It always amazed me that we never get more ex-detectives and SWAT members on these forums..... I imagine literacy wasn't on the training program?

SA SWAT is not the USA SWAT. SWAT is Special weapons ammunition training where you are taught what to do when someone throws a grenade at you, you get to throw them yourselves aswell as you do house penetration and close quarter combat and you get a teargas treatment where you sit and they throw about 4 or 5 grenades releasing the gas around you. If they did not do that then no police officer would be allowed to use it. It is a necessity when you finish your basic training. Its 2 months at a place called Meleeuskop its in the bush. Its a huge complex which have bush lanes structures for house penetration, grenade ranges as well as ranges for assault rifle which is the R5 5.65 assault rifle and the 9mm they normally issued us with Berrettas. Some woman gets the RAP which locks up about after 8 or 9 rounds fired.

The SWAT you see in the movies and in your dreams from time to time is equal to our intervention Unit or the Riot unit. Those courses they get to fire uzies, do ab sailing of a helicopter and do advance riot control as well as hand combat techniques. You also got to change a Nyala tires under a certain time. Those tires are twice the weight of a truck tyre.

The guys who normally ends up in those units are the guys who do not have the mentality to complete task force training. You want to see what task force training is just go to youtube and look for South African task force and see for yourself.

As for the detectives you watch too much television. You go to the Police College 6 months, then the 2 months tactical which is basically SWAT level 1 then you go to a police station and with your field trainer you basically work 6 months inside and 6 months outside doing complaints. After that youu are a constable. Now at the police station is the detectives. When students are finish and sometimes when they get out of college and finished the tactical they get drawn straight into the detective services. Detective is not a special rank. You do not go out and solve murders like on tv or chase suspects the whole day. No most of the time you are f****d in paperwork completing brought forwards and writing up in the SAP5 which is the inside of the docket cover what you basically did so far. Because after your receive a docket you write up then the officers inspect them. You work once a week standby and every fourth weekend where you will receive all the dockets. In the end you will sit with a huge fecking case load of about 150 to 300 dockets. Officers kaking on your head and expect you to do investigation of murders, ----, armed robbery do bail hearings all sorts of things with 20 detectives and a case laod of over a 1000 dockets a month spread between them. I was off 2 months for stress and turned around just before I turned into a full blooded alcoholic. I am 34 years have 3 kids and a wife so forgive me for not living in your dream world or not hanging around trigger happy online forums of that might remind me of a time where the police service almost rip all the life out of me. You watch too much TV and need to get in touch with reality. There is no slow mo police chases. No getting the bad guy almost. Not pulling out your fire arm and have a 10 minute shoot out with the bad guys or have super microscopic eyes and a super crimelab solving a crime for you.

Only thing that is real is when a guy walks up to 4 of your closest friends in a squad car and start opening fire on it with a R5 assualt rifle. Assault rifle is not your short in the arm and you walk with a bandage the next day no. Knees where shot. Half the arm needs a skin graph from round hitting it. To put in perspective the force one was hit in the right but cheek and his knee was dislocated due to it.

You think I am pretending just Google Bonnita Prins Ravensmead. I was in Police College when that happened. You want me to mail you service papers? Unfortunately you have to hand in all your equipment and anything you got issued with.

So there you have it a detective is not some special higher ranked dude. You just choose or ask to go work at a different part of the police station instead of taking complaints and pro active policing you do investigation work and the handling of court dockets.

So no I am not pretending. Just been around a lot in my young life so far :cheers

SA SWAT is not the USA SWAT. SWAT is Special weapons ammunition training where you are taught what to do when someone throws a grenade at you

No.

You are a re-tard. That is not what SWAT stands for, not even in a poor broke dick police department in South Africa

hen as soon as you mentioned COD and whatever the hell followed that sentence you entered the realm of the ------. Someone who has probably never held, let alone fired a gun and bases all their knowledge of firearms on video games. Now this would not be so bad, that is until what followed.......
No you mentioned COD first. Not me

S
o you managed to serve two years as police officer, including SWAT and then 5 years as a detective in your 7 year career. That would be the Asian Dooger Houser of law enforcement, which I am sure you are not.
No SWAT is not a unit. It is a tactical training course. You get SWAT level 1 2 and 3. Special weapons ammunition training - SWAT. You watch too much tv. The rest I explained above

ah yes, all police officers love firing all kinds of weapons. It's the best! cause it's so unique and a once in a lifetime experience for them.
No I grew up on a South African farm where we had a .22, .303 air rifle and a .222. We did a lot hunting. That is what our South Africans do. We even have a a special holiday just for braai (bbq).

Women are not in SWAT, they are not even in basic army combat units.

Again SWAT is not a Unit. Its a tactical training course. Woman and men are equal in our country and they receive the same training. They also have to complete the same course to become a police officer. Also we have a affirmative action policy where a woman get first choice. I will not go into the the race issues as its not appropiate to discuss here

The first thing you'll notice about anyone ex-military or ex-law enforcement is how uptight and nazi they are about gun safety. You are obviously someone who should never own a firearm.
Again you are making presumptions. Gun safety is the first thing drilled into your head.

Safety on
Mag out
Cock open
Visually inspect through the ejector and feel with your finger if in a dark place if any round is still stuck in there.
Release the slide
Mag in
Switch safety catch to fire position holster your weapon.

Just to show you what a complete arse you are and watch too many movies have a look at this and READ what SWAT is
South African Police Basic Training: A preliminary assessment - Janine Rauch

No.

You are a re-tard. That is not what SWAT stands for, not even in a poor broke dick police department in South Africa

And what are YOU? The poster boy for birth control?
Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.). You can lay off with the insults.

I have no idea whats going on, nor do I have the time to read through all this. But Mark if you have Mosin Nagant. That is freaking awesome artifact to have and you can show your further generation.

I've only made 17 posts since the beginning of May. No wonder all the good banter went.

I got my head stuck in a bin last week on a night out though if anyone is interested :) Ahhhh Freshers :D

Watched the new "Lincoln" movie trailer. It is perhaps fitting to say that this movie will not actually please a lot of people, as the story may seem boring to a few but to me, it looks great. A trailer isn't really sufficient to judge a movie but I feel, that this movie is ought to do well, simply because the cast is great. I mean, the movie has got 3 academy award winning actors so no question about the acting standards for the movie.

It's too good to be true, but that's the street I was living on a couple of years ago!!!! Basically its all the junkies and alchies that sit there all day causing trouble so I'm not too surprised that this happened. Even better, but the old boy is called "Tam".

Bit too close for home lol, my secret's out. I'm a 52 alchie and the reason I've been so quiet recently is that I've just started living on the streets....:(
