PS3: Ranji Trophy Competition | Punjab Warriors (Kushari) WIN THE LEAGUE

You're sure about this?

Remember, no one wants you out. You started this tournament. Everyone just wants you to be more available.

In case you don't want back in, the rest of us have to decide what to do now.

Managers, get in your votes by tonight 1159pm GMT.

Option 1: Continue as a 6 man tournament, with RBT vs PW struck off the record books. Tournament ends sooner.

Option 2: Find a new manager for RBT. Based on people who have commented in this thread showing interest, and are still active on this forum, the replacement will be @RIZZYX (if he still wishes to participate). RBT vs PW will be replayed. The tournament may get delayed slightly.

My vote is for option 1.

My Vote will be for Option-2

----------

@Solomon lets wait for the Patch-2 to release before we play the remaining part of our Ranji Match? Its just a matter of 02 more days.

@arjwiz Vote status is 03 for Option-2 (Inducting a new Manager for RBT) and 02 for Option-1 (In favor of playing without RBT). So, even if @valerian140 vote for Option-1, the Voting Result will be 03 Each. What will you do in that situation?

Note: And if @valerian140 vote for Option-2 then we meed to replace Ishaan with a new manager for the remaining matches of RBT.

@honu999 we can wait for a couple more days to continue our range match.. How about the IPL 2nd match.
@arjwiz i don't think the tournament is going to be delayed by much as the other managers are pretty active and they will be able to complete it within the designated time period.

My vote is for option 1.

----------

Since it is now tied, I suppose the tie breaker vote should now be given to the league creator in all fairness. Since he has already opted for option 1 , we should stick to it in my opinion. It is just what I feel :)

As much as I would love to play I rly can't and I don't want everyone else experience in this league to diminish because I cannot commit to my games

Unfortunately, the league creator is the person who has left the tournament :( But I know what you mean. I don't want this to be a unilateral decision.

My thinking is that once the Ranji season is finished, depending on how much fun we're having, I will start a second season. The second season will include the same core managers and teams, and will include a retention plus auction system for new players. Player statistics will ideally include historical as well as new data. This way, each season, we churn the non-active managers (remember azad and sarvesh?) and bring in new, active folk.

For now, I don't mind switching my vote to Option 2, but that would be unfair. Unless @bradthelad and @valerian140 object, I will approach Rizzyx to invite him to replace Ishaan k.

@arjwiz I think it is grossly unfair with me if my match with Ishaan to be forfeited and I have to play again with the new manager. In any Tournament if one manager is not been able to continue for some reason and the other manager replace him, the norm is the completed matches with the earlier manager need to be counted as a legitimate match, and the new manager should play the remaining matches.

Just for example, if somehow I am not able to continue in this Ranji League for any reason, it would be grossly unfair to discredit my opponents with the efforts they put in their match with me. What about the time I played with @ishaan at late at night with lots of inconvenience, does it count for nothing?

Even in upcoming UCC League & Caribbean League, if a manager play few matches and could not continue thereafter, the replacement managers needs to start playing from where the last manager left (Talking about completed games). If we start forfeiting completed matches like this, it will be very hard if someone decide before the last round match that he cannot continue any further for valid/invalid reasons, so will you guys consider all his previous completed matches as null & void? It will allow player in the bottom rank to withdraw anytime he wants, and there is no way we can judge if the persons problem is genuine or not. Most importantly, it will mean the player who invested their valuable time in playing that particular manager in a good faith has effectively wasted quite few hours of his life for absolutely NOTHING...

@arjwiz there are two managers who showed interest and we have three teams up for grabs. Why don't we add both of them if all are ok?

I quite agree with Solomon, what is the need to finish this league in such a hurry. If all the managers are active 10 Days window should be enough to complete the matches between 02 Managers. Anyway all other leagues beside this one is the same T20 leagues, its quite refreshing to play TEST matches like this.

Lastly, I am OK with whatever decision you guys take regardless of what I feel about it.

That is not an option - one manager cannot play Ishaan while the rest play someone else. I don't think its grossly unfair, I think it's absolutely fair. You yourself voted for option 2 with that scenario in mind.

IF Ishaan would have played half the tournament, then the situation might have been more complex. We might have then had no option but to bring in another manager to continue, and that manager must be of a similar level as the departing one. Ishaan and Rizzy are obviously at different ends of the spectrum. It would be grossly unfair to the managers who have not played Ishaan if he is replaced with Rizzy only for the upcoming games. Similarly, if Ishaan was the best manager in the world, and you lost convincingly to him, but he is replaced with a manager who can't play, then it would be grossly unfair to you.

I think you're exaggerating when you say that a manager has wasted hours of his life. I don't think anyone has wasted hours of his life when he is playing DBC online and enjoying the game. It's like a friendly game. In every international sport, completed games have gotten struck off the record books or converted into friendlies due to various reasons. There is nothing new to this.

Your game with Ishaan is unfortunately struck off the record books due to his departure. It is unfortunate that you were the one that had the misfortune of scheduling with him, and like I stated earlier, your efforts in scheduling with him are appreciated. However, there is no option but to strike that game off as a friendly.

I can't rejig the schedule at this stage of the tournament. Organising these test matches are much more difficult that a free-for-all T20 tournament. And I can't modify the excel now.

Why are we talking about bringing in more managers now, when the vote earlier was to not bring in a new manager? We discussed this and democratically chose to continue with one team short.

I agree that 10 days are enough, but I cannot add more managers and teams at this stage. We can add more managers for a future tournament. We now have the advantage of knowing who the regulars are.

Remember, I inherited this tournament from Ishaan, who did all the registrations and rules. Had I started from scratch, rules would have been different, and would have accounted for many of these scenarios. We were unlucky with Sarvesh and azad who disappeared. With Ishaan now gone, that means 1/3rd of our original nine managers have left. This is an unfortunate situation that hopefully won't happen as much in future tournaments - if it does, then we need to have alternatives in place.

@arjwiz I dont think I am exaggerating anything. If my efforts have gone in vain it may be exaggeration for some, but not for me. But I dont want to be selfish so I already stated I am OK with whatever you guys decide. But remember this incident can create a precedent which can come back to haunt us again. God forbid if @honu999 who has already lost 03 matches and way to lost his 4th Match (I presume) with Solomon, could not continue after this match (or any further), will you null & void all his previous 03/04 matches? I know its not easy for you to be fair with everybody and at every situation...Lets hope things dont come to such situation where our decision come back to haunt us.

Anyway lets forget about all this, if my match with @ishaan finally has been decided to be scraped, I would like to change my vote to Option-1, so that I can finish with this ASAP.

Note: I hope you all have maturity to understand, its nothing personal against anyone of you, I just expressed my views the way I felt it. I am committed to this tournament and dont want to spoil my mood for something which cannot be undone, even though I wont feel the same excitement and zeal any further for this Tournamnet (Which I have right to, and you cant deny me at-least this). So, lets go ahead and continue.

I explained this scenario in my previous post, kushari, stating how the situation would be much more complex.

What do you expect me to do, here? Put yourself in my shoes. If I replace Ishaan with Rizzy, but keep the records of your game with Ishaan, then I will have other managers complaining about how it is unfair to them! My hands are tied.

The best thing under this situation is to select from either of the two options proposed.

Kushari, think about whether you really want option 1, because you have wanted to make this a long and enjoyable tournament. I had agreed to switch my vote or cancel my vote, which meant that option 2 would win. Now it looks like option 1 will win. Is that what you want?

Yes Option-1 for me. @arjwiz I already told you I understand your position and probably would have done the same if I was in your shoe. But I cannot act like I am super Exited and Extremely Happy with this development. I cannot FAKE. I am bitterly disappointed and this will effect my morale and interest for the reminder of this league (If its exaggerating, so be it). Its absolutely nothing to do with rest of you guys, I understand and accept this as my misfortune, how I wish I would have not shown extra zeal in coxing Ishaan to play with me, its all in vain now as my effort with my bat and bowl, but I guess that is life....lets move on mates...

Okay, that's it decided then. We will continue as a six team league. Hopefully teething issues will be ironed out in the second season, if any.

I will update the fixtures, tables and everything else appropriately.
