To be honest, I do not think we need a 16 team tournament. Instead of 10, we can do with 12 team tournament. While the matches that are being played right now in qualifiers look amazing and close to be talked about, the performances are not the same when it comes to actual world cup.

We all keep comparing cricket world cup to FIFA's and it is wrong. For soccer, the talent pool is enormous with each country having an established domestic competition, the same cannot be said about cricket.

Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, West Indies and one other (should have been Ireland but fine with Scotland) should have been playing this years WC no questions asked. 10 is too little and 16 is too many, 12 teams is perfect with 4 groups of 3 teams or 3 groups of 4 teams.

A prime example is USA, should they be in WC when they cannot even compete in WCQ? No! UAE, Oman and others are also on the same boat.
