We've got all different types but not a rock one! Which is a damn shame.

Theres millions of different types of rock!

I think a few know i'm a major fan of the pop rock kinda scene. There's some major artists there like Blink 182, Green Day and ofcourse others.

Theres pop punk which my favourite band Fall Out Boy started out.

There's alternative rock, which is something like The Academy Is..

My new kinda bit of rock is the female lead sing rock band, theres Paramore which pretty much lead that market, and I know why because she has a fantastic voice and a decent band behind her. Doesn't mean people have to stop trying. Hey Monday have been signed quite a bit ago by one of my favourite labels, Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen.

So, who likes rock?

Edit - Just to add, ofcourse this is very modern, 2008, kinda rock. 2008 rock is very different to the old "rock and roll," era! I've not mentioned any of that, because i'm very shallow and just like bands I like and don't tend to delve deeper than that. Apologies for that, I understand I could be called a fair few names for not mentioning the great rock bands like Gun's and Roses etc.

I've never actually known what rocks consists of.. I'm a lot more a fan of the older type of rock than the new heavier sort of a rock. I am a fan of paramore after hearing there album being played in HMV. But now I struggle to keep up with a lot of the new rock bands.

Personally I can think of a choice few names to call you for calling Guns n Roses a great rock band!!

Guns n Roses where up there though, Kev. :p

Come on tell us a few artists you like, cos i'm sure you like a bit of rock! In whatever shape it is.

Pendulum, Culli? Not a fan i'll be honest.

Simbazz added 0 Minutes and 41 Seconds later...

But I do like the single they released on Xbox Live, thats the only reason i've heard of them. See i'm ignorant to other bands.

Good bit of pendulym before playing rugby always helps!

I used to like GnR but Axl Rose's voice is now unbearable and adds to his whiny persona. To be fair, I don't really 'like' anyone. I like songs and whoever it's by, I don't care. Got a few rock songs on my phone: slither, thundersrtuck, SNA, Back in black, crawling, free bird, creep (don't like it anymore - too emo) and that's about it I think. Oh yeah, and the End by the Doors but 12 mins is too long to actually listen to it.

If there's any reason why I wanna learn to play the guitar is to play Free Bird's guitar solo. Not to mention the hoardes of groupies all wantings my bod-ay.

I think rock in paticular has transformed in recent years. 'Cos I mean, I like pop rock and that, which isn't that heavy in all honesty, but rock is one of those genres where you can go, "Yeah, they're good, but not my type of thing." Where as, things like dance music and that, I can go, "No thats chavvy shite, get it off."

Its all about respect for what people are doing.

Lostprophets, great band. But, what they have turned into is a great pity.
AC/DC - 'nuff said.

I think that's about it, well, ones that you guys may have even heard of.

Totally agree .Mob about Lostprophets, they've sold out and gone very very very mainstream.

Lost Prophets were a band I liked before they did what Simon did, a bit like My Chemical Romance(although I didn't like them much). There have been loads of great rock bands over the years though. Metallica are great, although they are more metal than rock, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rainbow(metal?), Deep Purple, Whitesnake(just for Treva), Black Sabbath and a bit of Jimmy Hendrix. There's load of bands and legends I have probably missed out but I don't want to take away all the discussion from the thread. ;)

I am more of a metal fan.. Iron Maiden, Metallica, Linkin Park, Evanescence, etc..

Nirvana is awesome (if it is classified under rock).. The man who sold the world, smells like teen spirit, Lithium are super tracks !!
Coldplay has some great songs as well. Particularly like shiver, speed of sound, viva la vida.
Greenday, Blink182 are punk, and over a period of time get way too monotonous for my liking. Wake me up when September ends and American Idiot are my favs..

Not sure whether they are rock, but also liked
Oasis - wonderwall,
The Cranberries - Zombie,
Used to listen to RHCP, not anymore..

Coldplay and Oasis are more indie, but i suppose you could class it as Indie Rock.

maybe.. I never understand the classifications, so it doesn't matter to me what genre it is. It should please thy ears ;)

I'd Like to mention Pink Floyd, Scorpions, and Jethrotull. Again, not sure whether they belong here, but according to me they are Rock.
