Rock Music Thread

Lol to where this thread is going to! IMO, GIMH sounds a lot older than Simbazz. When you said you liked Guns 'N Roses, I assumed you were 30 or so. When Simbazz mentioned he liked Fall Out Boy, I assumed he was around 16-20. Just how we generalise people to the type of music they listen to.

Yeah, I guess 30 is about the average age of a GNR fan, maybe even 35, but I do have quite a few friends who like them, friends that are my age

Each to thier own, music means something unique to everyone.

You were correct, Andrew. (Take thats your name ;))

Of course Simon. Heh.

Indeed. Each generation and individual likes different styles of music.

A lot of people I hung around likes the "hip" music of today. Like Fall Out Boy.

I don't fall into following a band or music of the generation. if it's good music, it's good music. I'm kind of a music whore. I'll jump on anyone who can bang out a good tune and that applies to all genres.

FoB are kinda the voice for a lot of people, they sing mostly about current affairs, mainly in music, which is what I like. I also connect with most songs in one way or another.

I'm sure that's just like any of us Will. If they sound good you like them.

Although because of Fall Out Boys epic fan base, people are embarrassed of liking them. Don't think it's anything you should really care about. Fall Out Boy too, have affected me in more ways than one. And they obviously are more than just a catchy band.

Lol, I've never actually heard a Fall Out Boy track. I was speaking in general terms.

They are, because they write about things which are topical.

I mean, a lot of people hate them, but you can't know the lyrics.

Yeah I know Will, I probably should've paragraphed it after I started mentioning Fall Out Boy.

But they are a teen-girl sensation. Would just hope they love 'em for the style of their music composition rather than their big name and catchy tune.

It's so true that, you either love them or hate them.

It is, I don't think theres much of a grey area.

Niv thought I was a pre-teen female when he heard I liked Linkin Park :noway

The thing that annoys me about Fall Out Boy is how much attention Pete Wentz gets. He is the bass player and in most bands the guitarist and the singer get the most attention but honestly, he dominates the headlines and band attention so much. It is not like has written some great basslines (the singles that have been released) to deserve the attention, it is just teenage girls obessed with him.

Fall Out Boy have written some catchy tunes (I Don't Care, Dance Dance) but I wouldn't go out of my way to get an album of there's unless I was recommended by a friend.
