Rock Music Thread

Yeah they've signed some great talents.

Guess you must listen to Hey Monday because they're supporting.

Erm...fair shallow i'll admit, but thought Cassadee Pope was hot, so listened to some of thier demo's on myspace and was like, hmmm great voice.

I'm not being bias or anything but personally, I reckon Hey Monday will be better than Paramore.

Can't believe some of the **** you kids are trying to pass off as rock, seriously, have a think about what you are doing with your lives IMO

Okay, I've listened to more AC/DC, and I'll agree that the instrumentals are excellent. Definitely Hard Rock. But for some reason I don't think it is in the same league as Iron Maiden or Dragonforce (Who, BTW, are amazing. I heard Soldiers of the Wasteland and Through the Fire and Flames, and was just amazed. Wow. Likin Park will have to fall to second place I'm afraid, these guys are great, can't wait to hear the rest of their stuff). AC/DC doesn't appeal to me as much as those guys, and I have no idea why...

Just listened to Soldiers of the wasteland. They ARE awesome !!
Superb guitar and drums :)

I thought some one would end up getting into that, to be honest mate, if you are getting into them, have a look at purchasing this:

Play.com (UK) : Muse - H.A.A.R.P: Live At Wembley 2007 (CD & DVD) : CD - Free Delivery

This is a CD/DVD of Muse's 2 sell out nights at Wembley Stadium in London, put it this way, I have seen the DVD's from the likes of Metallica, Foo Fighters, the lot, and this one just blows it away, it features the most popular Muse songs such as Plug In Baby, New Born, Time is running out and sing for absolution, but Matt Bellamy's performance in this is just like this . It is THE best Music DVD you will ever buy or see!

I think my friend has a copy of H.A.A.R.P (the one the recommended me Muse) and if I can't borrow it off him then I will probably find one in the shops out here.

To be honest, kid. I think you were last in line for the charm school.

Why not structure your beliefs in a way I can argue to, instead of me thinking your a stuck up, idiotic human being.

My life, as I see it, is fine. I've got a job, uni, good mates, a missus. You? Probably a huge stack of 80's porn, a top of the range computer with super-speed broadband for all them new porn movies and stacks and stacks of downloaded films.

Anyways, apart from this idiot, i'm enjoying this thread :) no-one has flamed or anything, its been good.

Leave the porn out of this, Simon. It didn't hurt nobody.

I'm not saying its a bad thing, but he's probably got glasses, those real old brick-y ones. With tap over the nose bridge.

He's just annoyed me, apologies.

Lol, no worries as long as the porn goes unharmed ;)

There's no one type of rock so there's inevitably going to be a clash. You can't blame someone for liking something different.

That was directed at GIMH btw

I think any good-standing male cannot say anything bad about good porn :p

Any good-standing human being could also post what he posted.

I was only jokin. But seems as you asked, I have a career, great mates, three kids, no computer of my own and don't really watch films. but your comments cut me deep and I shall remove all jesticular comments from the thread :(

I reckon they're pretty good, but to be bigger than Paramore is a heck of a status. I remember two years ago they were basically unknown to everyone. Only me and a few friends knew about them, then Misery Business comes out and they become even more mainstream than Fall Out Boy at a stage.

Not that I trust wikipedia but;

"Rock music is a genre of popular music with a prominent vocal melody, accompanied by electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums."

And predominantly, Fall Out Boy / Panic At The Disco all pass that. And I wouldn't even know how to categorise their music other than Rock (especially their earlier albums).

Good for you,

Now go learn the meaning of "rock," and then come back with your opinions. Give us bands you listen to and enjoy, in the Rock genre and we're good to go aren't we.

I told you, I love Guns N' Roses

I do love other bands to, but that'll do for now...
