Hmm...let me iterate my point in a bit more detail
It is a fact, that from the expected Brazil starting lineup in Germany, only Ronaldinho is in form. The rest are either inconsistent, injury prone, or just complacent. Against Lyon, Dida made 2 terrible mistakes, and he was extremely lucky that Lyon did not capitalize. Clearly he is lacking confidence.
Cafu has just returned from knee surgery, he needs to do alot before he is match fit again. I'm not doubting his experience, but age may limit his ability to go forward. Roberto Carlos just hasn't been good for Real. He will still get a place though, I don't see Dede or Silvinho as good enough replacements.
Lucio well...he still is a good defender, but compared to the powerhouse he was last season, his form has dipped. Defence is Brazil's problem area, and it did them no good to see Emerson make a fool of himself against Arsenal. Granted, Kaka is still world class. Its just I think he's performing in flashes, look at the game against Barca for example. He was nowhere in the first half, and he only began emerging towards the end of the game. He's not dictating games, like Ronaldinho does.
I don't know why Juninho is behind Ze Roberto in the pecking order, he's had a brilliant season with Lyon and fully deserves a spot in the WC.
Gilberto has been good of late, yes. He marked Riquelme brilliantly in the semis.
Then the goal-scorers....well, Ronaldo and Adriano have hardly had a good season, and Robinho's form has been waning at Real...
I do believe though, that Brazil will sort out their problems. Ronaldo is a man for big moments, I wouldn't be surprised if he regains the kind of form he had at the 2002 world cup.
