hmm if Cafu wont play who will be the Captain... ?? Ronaldinho??

Probably Carlos or someone very experienced. Ronaldinho doesn't really seem like a leader.

Hmm...let me iterate my point in a bit more detail :p

It is a fact, that from the expected Brazil starting lineup in Germany, only Ronaldinho is in form. The rest are either inconsistent, injury prone, or just complacent. Against Lyon, Dida made 2 terrible mistakes, and he was extremely lucky that Lyon did not capitalize. Clearly he is lacking confidence.

Cafu has just returned from knee surgery, he needs to do alot before he is match fit again. I'm not doubting his experience, but age may limit his ability to go forward. Roberto Carlos just hasn't been good for Real. He will still get a place though, I don't see Dede or Silvinho as good enough replacements.

Lucio well...he still is a good defender, but compared to the powerhouse he was last season, his form has dipped. Defence is Brazil's problem area, and it did them no good to see Emerson make a fool of himself against Arsenal. Granted, Kaka is still world class. Its just I think he's performing in flashes, look at the game against Barca for example. He was nowhere in the first half, and he only began emerging towards the end of the game. He's not dictating games, like Ronaldinho does.

I don't know why Juninho is behind Ze Roberto in the pecking order, he's had a brilliant season with Lyon and fully deserves a spot in the WC.

Gilberto has been good of late, yes. He marked Riquelme brilliantly in the semis.

Then the goal-scorers....well, Ronaldo and Adriano have hardly had a good season, and Robinho's form has been waning at Real...

I do believe though, that Brazil will sort out their problems. Ronaldo is a man for big moments, I wouldn't be surprised if he regains the kind of form he had at the 2002 world cup.

Good points there mate.

They aren't in quite the dissaray you make out tho.

Anyway, I think they'll come good for the World Cup. They seem to be happy to just be playing for their National side, which is something England could learn from.

We'll see anyway, I reckon they'll make the Final.

Fergie has taken charge on the matter. He says that if Rooney isnt fit,he wont go to the World Cup,even if Sven wants to include him.Who do you guys think should have the right to make the decision?

EDIT:Some really good news on the matter from FIFA

The people who pay his wages every year should have the choice. He is a Man Utd player and if they see him making his injury worse, by going to the World Cup, then they wont let him go.

He is too important to Man Utd to risk making the injury worse.

If he is in training when the World Cup starts, he will go.
