IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore

Nah, 2 spinners is more the norm.

----------

I guess it also depends on the kind of players at your disposal, for e.g. Delhi's better bowlers tend to be their fast bowlers(Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav, Irfan Pathan, Varun Aaron) and thus they can go in with as many as 4 of them.

1. Chris Gayle [overseas]
2. Cheteshwar Pujara
3. Virat Kohli*
4. AB de Villiers? [overseas]
5. Saurabh Tiwary
6. Mayank Agarwal
7. Daniel Vettori/Andrew McDonald/Daniel Christian/Moises Henriques [overseas]
8. Zaheer Khan
9. RP Singh
10. Murali Karthik
11. Muttiah Muralitharan [overseas]

Pretty good eh?

I would not send Pujara to open with Gayle. Mayank Agarwal would be the right guy. As we have seen in the recent past that Gayle does not go after the bowlers from ball 1 and he takes a bit of time to settle in. Now I would rather have someone like Mayank Agarwal on the non-strikers end who can go after the bowlers from the very first delivery rather then Pujara who I don't think is an aggressive player but can anchor their inning. However, if Pujara does not open then it is hard to fit him anywhere else because all the other places looks occupied. Might as well try him at no 3 may be and push Virat to 4.

Then you'd be pushing de Villiers down and thus also push Saurabh down... Pujara has to open, there's just no way around it man.

My RCB XI prediction for today's match

01. Chris Gayle*
02. Tillakaratne Dilshan* (?)
03. Virat Kohli*
04. Sunny Sohail / Sheldon Jackson (?)
05. Mayank Agarwal
06. Daniel Christian/Moises Henriques*
07. Saurabh Tiwary / Karun Nair
08. Vinay Kumar
09. RP Singh
10. Murali Karthik
11. Muttiah Muralitharan*

Yet the team looks pale without a stiff middle order and a finisher, Since Ab is not available and Arun has injured its obvious that any one among Dillu or Jackson gets to keep and its 100% that Mois or Dand will get to bat so 3 med pacer's and 2 spinner's and 2 optional spinners if dillu wont keep looks good

Unadkat was the best bowler for RCB for today after Vinay Kumar so he should stay in for the next match. And i am not surprised at all he got picked, he has been bowling great in the past and he lived up to the expectations here.

So yet another good start but still flaws do remain no support for Chris :facepalm, KB A.Karthik was very good but still feel Muralitharan lost his wicket taking stint so i guess its better to play Rampaul or Henriques over him and once if ab is back the team may look settled.

We won yesterday because of Unadkat's excellent penultimate over and Vinay's terrific ultimate over :thumbs and Murali Karthik's spell of 1/24 of 4 was a beauty, Dan guess Captain's should bowl you out before the 16th over ;)

Yes its wonderful match yesterday.Very much enjoyed and all the credit goes to last over bowler only.

Killer of a last over for Vinay , one of the best ever in the IPL .

yeah when i saw Dan going for a air show i taught we lost it but full mark's to Unadkat and Vinay they bowled very well to draw victory from the jaws of defeat

My RCB XI for the next encounter against SRH

01. Chris Gayle*

02. Sunny Sohal @ #6 or #2

03. Virat Kohli (c)

04. AB de Villiers (?)*

05. Moises Henriques*

06. Mayank Agarwal @ #2 or #6

07. KB Arun Karthik (?)

08. Vinay Kumar

09. Murali Kartik

10. Jaydev Unadkat

11. Muttiah Muralitharan/Ravi Rampaul*

For RCB, their over-reliance on Gayle & AB showed on scorecard in away match against SRH. With AB missing from the action & Gayle dismissed cheaply,
it boiled down to younger players like Kohli & Henriques who batted well, but couldn't really force the pace.
130/8, although it felt a handful in the end, was at least 15-20 runs short, albeit the slow surface.

Looking forward to AB's participation & more importantly, looking forward to RCB not being a one-man army!!!:lol
