TEST CHAMPIONSHIP RULES

* Each series consists of 3 matches and a month has been allocated for each series.

* You may play in as many series as you like, but not as two teams in the same match.

* To begin a series you must download the saved game file from the host on the online play forum. Each series is prepared ready for you to start, please ensure that throughout the series you save the game from the main menu (appears after the post-match summary) before the start of the second or third subsequent tests

* Prior to loading the saved game players must go to "squads" and hit "restore teams" in order to ensure that their ctm file is registered for the loaded game.

* level of play is at the discretion of both players - normal or hard. You will be asked before the series by the host which level players have agreed to.

* If you are playing against a computer oponnent then your level will be automatically set as hard for the test.

* Match conditions and toss - one person should decide the toss to bat first/second and the other should set the match conditions for the 5 days. You will need Gamtweak and the Match Details Editor to perform these functions.

* Matches must end after the alotted overs or wickets allocation is surpassed.

* You should use Field Editor 5.0, available on the planet cricket forums or from sonic.

* You may use whichever ctm file you like but retired players are not permitted for selection, also it is insisted that bowling averages are set as realistic as possible as this can have a bearing on the outcome of a match.

* Each player MUST remember to take screenshots of their scorecard, batting stats and bowling stats so that accurate individual records and team stats can be updated on the OCB website

*All matches from July have a ten day match window. If a player is seen to be taking too long in completing an innings and the match goes over the alotted time without genuine reason, then the OCB reserve the right to forfeit the match in favour of the player who is playing sportingly. If a series is incomplete after the 30 days then neither side will recieve the bonus point for finishing the series on schedule.

MATCH WINDOWS:

1st test = 1st - 10th
2nd test = 11th - 20th
3rd test = 21st - 30th

*Failure to supply the vital statistics...which are:- match scorecards, batting stats and bowling stats during the entire series will result in your team not being awarded the bonus point available for supplying them. The screenshots MUST also be visably readable and in their original state otherwise you will not recieve the bonus point.

*If you cannot complete a match or series then the OCB will autoplay your innings for you. Autoplay cannot be used mid-match, so if a player pulls out half way through a game then the opponent will be awarded the match points. In the event of autoplay, the OCB will use Championship positions to determine the averages which will be set for the teams. Autoplay will be uses in cpu vs cpu matches and human vs cpu matches. The cpu team will have batting and bowling averages set, whilst the human team will just have its bowling averages set for the autoplayed cpu innings. Even in the event of not being available for a match it is possible to still select the line-up you wish to take to the field, but if you fail to attach the ctm to the match post on the forums, then the OCB will select an appropriate line-up from their own Cricket 2002 files.

OVERS ALLOCATION:

* Note that overs allocation WILL NOT apply to a team who's innings is autoplayed by the computer.

* Overs available between human players are available dependant on how closely matched the teams are in terms of their league position. This will be calculated as follows:

gap = 1 place...both teams will have a maximum of 97 overs per innings
gap = 2 places...higher team will have 90 overs per innings, lower team will have 105 overs per innings
gap = 3 places...higher team will have 90 overs per innings, lower team will have 105 overs per innings
gap = 4 places...higher team will will have 85 overs per innings, lower team will have 110 over per innings
gap = 5 places...higher team will have 85 overs per innings, lower team will have 110 overs per innings
gap = 6 places...higher team will have 80 overs per innings, lower team will have 115 overs per innings
gap = 7 places...higher team will have 80 overs per innings, lower team will have 115 overs per innings
gap = 8 places...higher team will have 75 overs per innings, lower team will have 120 overs per innings
gap = 9 places...higher team will have 75 overs per innings, lower team will have 120 overs per innings
gap = 10 places...higher team will have 70 overs per innings, lower team will have 125 overs per innings

WICKETS ALLOCATION:

* This applies to both human and computer autoplayed innings. the number of wickets you can afford to lose is dependant on how close the two teams are in the Championship.

Important Notes:

* If either side is bowled out or declares in the first innings for under their allotted overs allocation they will have the overs they missed added to their second innings allocation. i.e if you face only 60 overs of 75 allocated then the 15 you missed will be added to your second innings allocation.

* If, for example, South Africa declare for less wickets than their allocation then the wickets they failed to lose will be added to the second innings allocation. i.e they declare or finish their overs for loss of 4 then they can afford to lose 8 wickets in their second innings instead of 6.

* The maximum number of wickets you can lose per innings will be calculated as follows:

gap = 1 place...both teams can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 2 places...both teams can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 3 places...higher team can lose 8 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 4 places...higher team can lose 8 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 5 palces...higher team can lose 7 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 6 places...higher team can lose 7 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 7 places...higher team can lose 6 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 8 places...higher team can lose 6 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 9 places...higher team can lose 5 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings
gap = 10 places...higher team can lose 5 wickets per innings, lower team can lose 10 wickets per innings

POINTS SCORING:

Points for the Championship are based on league positions from July. If a lower team is facing a higher ranked side then the opportunity to gain substantial points will be dependant on the gap between the two teams. Also, if a high flying side is playing a weaker side then they will recieve less points as a result, and will only recieve substantial points against sides closest to them in the championship. Below is a brekadown of how the points system will operate. Points are awarded in three stages - single test match win/draw points, test series bonus win/draw points and miscellaneous bonus points.

POINTS FOR SINGLE TEST MATCH WIN/DRAW:

gap = 1 place - lower team gain 6 win points, 3 points for draw...higher team gain 6 win points, 3 points for draw
gap = 2 places - lower team gain 6 win points, 3 points for draw...higher team gain 6 win points, 3 points for draw
gap = 3 places - lower team gain 7 win points, 3 points for draw...higher team gain 5 win points, 2 points for draw
gap = 4 places - lower team gain 7 win points, 3 points for draw...higher team gain 5 win points, 2 points for draw
