Save Game Options: I can't be the only one that wants this feature..

Save Game options in DBC should include:

...so let's have a poll and see how many agree. Maybe we can push the devs on this.

This game desperately needs either a quick save option (without exiting each time) and/or an auto-save option (each over). The current save and exit method takes too long and is highly inconvenient.

I wonder how many folk actually use the current save and exit option regularly. Moreover, I wonder how many folk have lost crucial game time due to a bug/issue simply because there isn't a convenient save option.

Given that so many prior cricket games had one or both of these features, I don't see why DBC, which trumps earlier games on so many levels, doesn't or can't have it.

10 seconds isn't that long (and I'm not sure it even takes as long as 10 seconds on the PS3)

Autosave can go horribly wrong. XCOM: EU and XCOM: EW were proof of this, when people's ironman games went sideways and there was no option but to start again. This happened to _lots_ of people.

It's probably not there to take away some of the temptation to just keep saving every over or two then quitting and reloading if you get yourself out or get tonked for an expensive over.

If it has to come it shouldn't be available in the career mode.

Im sure to start cheating by myself if there's a save option in the game. the thrill and anticipation etc knowing that this could be your last ball will be lost.

I don't see how that would help, the game hasn't crashed once on me and while it would be great, because I certainly would abuse it and cheat by saving every over, cultivating the sense of danger and risky is essential to enjoying the game.

one thing it does need though is when you "sim to player" it stops at a screen that requires advancement and doesn't just start your go when batting. It's a boring game at points, and if I need to go to the toilet or make a cup of tea it would be nice to be able to sim it then come back and find myself just ready to have my go.

it would be important to have this only when batting mind, when bowling it doesn't matter and the advancement option would become annoying when simming between overs.

I think if you really wanna cheat yourself in a career mode or any other mode then they will do so even now....But I would surely like save without quit option in the game as here there is no organised time for power cuts...It can go at anytime...Have lost many important innings because of not have this feature as saving and exiting again and again just takes away the momentum in our batting and that is very important in this game...:yes

i would really like to see this option, for example the other day I was playing a test match and desmond Haynes was on 93, my son came grabbed the remote, was bowled end of story. Thus sometimes everything is not in your control and saving every over will assist.

Having this option is not cheating. Is it any more cheating than having the option to do auto-fielding or having the bowling HUD meters (which was added at all difficulty levels in patch 2)?

The point is that it is an *option*. Users can turn it off is they so choose to do so. I'm okay with having it disabled for the highest difficulty level, or in the career mode for the hardcore gamers. But not having the option at all is very frustrating.

I haven't had any crashes but did have a couple of stalls due to the appealing bug and have also had several occasions when some unrealistic play such as a fast bowler making a full length dive to take a caught and bowled ruin an otherwise excellent gaming experience. Trust me when this happens to you and you lose a chunk of time it is no fun at all.

Despite my current save crash issues, I like the save and exit only feature. Even though I feel unsatisfied scoring a hundred after saving and exiting 7 times, I'd still do it, as the temptation is there. I'm glad Big Ant have done this, as I now feel as if I deserve every run and wicket, and will soldier on if things aren't going well

No, please as I play at that level only...

Yes but not everyone has that kind of time to play games - a hundred with 7 saves and exit would take a while. For casual gamers, I don't see the harm in having the option. Feel free to turn it off :)

Sorry if my post wasn't clear. I meant getting out 7 times and returning to a recent save each time i.e. cheating.

^ Exactly. You wouldn't want abuse/exploitation of the system by the players. The current system is best as it is. It's better to not try to fix what is not broken.

Sorry, I don't get your point. The current option does allow you to save/exit and return, which according to you is cheating. You said you are tempted to do this but find it unsatisfactory to get a big score this way. So do you do it or not?

Anyway, 'cheating' here is very ambiguous. Do you also play with manual fielding only or use some assisted fielding, or is that not cheating? What about the decision by the devs to include the bowling HUD at all difficulty levels -- isn't that cheating?

However, the key question lost in all this is: what's the harm in turning off the option for all you guys who love the current system?

I think Ross said that the system they have in place was required by Sony/MS to stop leaderboard manipulation?
