Seasons Report

Just finished my second season with Kent. I had Lee and Kemp as overseas.

Came first in the county champ, and third in the National League. Didn't do well in others I don;t think.

Saggers was my top bolwer again, this time with 85 wickets. Lee had about 78, so this was ok. Key was my highest runs scorer with 1872, and was also top in the season. He also got my highest score of 245, but was bettered by Fred Flintoff, who got 299*.

I went with a couple of batsmen for overseas, so i signed Hayden and Ponting, a formidable double act. Hopefully I can win 2 tropies or more this year.

By the way, when do the players come back from world cup duty

Finished my first season with Yorkshire, quite impressed, gained promotion to division one in both competitions finishing 2nd in the County Champioship and 1st in the National League. Matthew Wood was a huge success scoring 1769 runs at an average of 67 and he was also the top scorer with 179 which was only bettered by Matt Prior off Sussex with 199.

Overseas players were quite good. Harvey averaged over 55 in the CC and 35 from opening in the National League whilst picking up 42 wickets. Jaques was also a success in the one day form scoring over 1500 runs including 4 centuries in a row at the back end of the season. He also picked up 1 wickets from the only over I bowled him so maybe an all rounder in the making! :)

Bowlers was mainly dominated by Hoggy who picked up 75 wickets but was away with England most of the time but when he was with the team he got wickets and plenty of them. Harvey as I already said got 42 wickets and behind him was Bresnan with 41.

Player to look out for would be Joe Sayers who isnt classed as an opener in the game but he opens in real life for Yorkshire so I stuck him up there with Wood and he smashed over 1000 runs in only 11 games including 5 centuries!

For season two, Harvey didnt stay on and seeing as Jaques poor form in the longer version of the game was pretty consistent, I kept no overseas players and brought in Shane Watson and Anil Kumble as our spin department was pretty poor last season with Dawson and Lawson both struggling with poor form throughout. Just missed out on Sean Ervine who had been released by Hampshire too, for some reason he chose Durham over us but oh well!

I did pants in my first season didnt win anything and came in the bottom half in nearly everything. I find county matches hard and always seem to get a draw?!

I drew 7 of my county games but only lost 1 so I guess that went for me, but you find or I did anyway that most pitches prepared are batter friendly which is why a lot of games are drawn. In the first two games I played in the season I scored 500+ on both occasions and only won one of them!

After turning to youth total domination has ended but I have unearthed some lovely generated players. My new opening batsman in his debut season managed over 1600 runs in the CC and over 1000 in the OD. England contracted opening batsman now at 23 and a superb youth player.

Another great signing has turned out to be an overseas Indian batsman who I can only guess is the new Tendulkar... It may only have been in the one day format that he managed the nigh on impossible, but Don Bradman would have been impressed :p

won every comp last year with hamps

Most Runs Tendulkar 1770 Mine
Highest Score Tendulkar 298 Mine
BBI- J.Anderson (8/19) Lancs, mine was C Tremlett (8/56)
Most Wickets S.Mushtaq (111) Mine

First picture is end of the first season I didnt really win anything only overseas players I had where Harbhajan and Azhar Mahmood. I held on to Harbhajan for the second season. In this season Scott Newman started to shine and showed his talent for a long term opening batsmen averaging early 50s

Second Picture is the second seaon it doesnt say but I won the National League 2 and got promoted to League 1. This seasons overseas players were Michael Bevan and Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan did excellent but I decided it was time to let him go and I signed Ricky Ponting and Shane Watson. Michael Bevan was excellent and he averaged 57 in all forms of the game. In the second season my best player Graham Thorpe retired and so did Mark Ramprakash he dropped in form on the second season to about averaging high 30s I was going to terminate his contract anyway. I signed Oawis Shah and I parterned him with Scott Newman to make the perfect opening ODI batsmen. Now Scott Newman was a vital part of the line-up and so was allrounder R. Clarke. Now I dont have Harbhajan I was lacking in the spin department with the only specialist spinner being slow left arm N Doshi.

Now I'm in the third season doing absolutely crap in the county matches being near last and doing alright in the National League in the middle parts of the table. I have knocked out of the Challenge Trophy by Shropshire YES!! Shropshire and I have won the Twenty20 cup. :clap

My first season completed with Gloucestershire results in double relegation :( No batsman averaged over 40 and no bowler took more than 40 wickets!

 Thats a shocker! But I have noticed how Glouchestershire and Glamorgan are the ones that always seem to struggle in my games too. Oh and Turbanation, its Scott Newman not Shaun Newman :)

Yea im always gloucestershire and to be honest we suck :p

Oh I did! Brought in Shane Watson and Brett Lee. Watson's been fantastic, Lee alright.

BIG mistake. In my third season with Kent, (last year I had Lee and Kemp) i signed Hayden and Ponting. Whilst I am guarenteed runs, I cannot bowl sides out, so I knock up 500 and the opposition do the same. My bowling attack consists of Saggers, Cook, Joseph and Patel, with Stevans as my all rounder. I am second from bottom of county and out of challenge. Damn, I can;t wait to get through this season.

Just finished my second season with Yorkshire, and to be honest I am pretty happy with the achievements. Considering Vaughan and Hoggy were away most of the season and I only had one back up seamer when Hoggy was away, the season went well. Undoubtebly the star of the season was Indian spinner Anil Kumble who took 99 wickets in the county championship and averaged high 30's with the bat so a decent all round season from the spinner. My other overseas player Shane Watson was okay, nothing special but he did manage to score 1000 runs in each form. Matthew Wood again finished top runs scorer with 1222, only 16 behind season top scorer Yuvraj Singh of Notts.

As far as the team did well joint 3rd position back in the top flight of the county championship is pleasing, and to have won the National League was also pleasing, especially seen as it was by a margin of 20 points. Lost in the final of the challenge trophy which was dissapointing and the Twenty20 offered nothing as we didnt even make it past the group stages for the second season running.

All in all a very pleasing season, dont think ill be keeping Shane Watson on, maybe ill go for a solid batsmen and keep Kumble if he is available as he was a huge success and seemed to enspire the younger spinner Lawson into form too.

Okay so just started season 3 and its looking good. Signed Sean Ervine and Graeme Swann as a couple of decent all rounders, brought in some young bowlers, and signed South African duo Jaques Kallis and Makhaya Ntini for the season but they miss the start away at the world cup. Couldnt retain Kumble as he had commitments to India, Anthony McGrath left which was good because i was going to cancel his contract anyway after 2 poor seasons so he saved me some money there, but everything is looking good for a push at the title this season after last years heroics!
