cricketers deserve their money n fame coz they earned it...and they won a international event not an asian event

hockey team will be given the same treatment when they are "world hockey champions".....even if indian cricket team won "asia cricket cup"..they wont get the similiar treatment like they got for "20/20 world cup" win

quite true. i feel some people are quite jealous of the fact that these players get so much money. but this sport is hugely popular and when a popular team like india win a world event, they are bound to be showered with money. its only but natural. people supporting hockey are comparing an asia cup win with a world cup win? what comedy!!!! first they should try to revive interest in hockey and then see if they are still not given all these money. they use the word "recognition" when they are actually jealous that these guys get all these perks for playing cricket.

Hockey may be the national sport but the public hardly has any interest in it and the politicians are smart enough to know that they wont benefit in any way by giving the hockey players cash prizes. It was quite funny to see a hockey coach talking to a news channel and he was saying that winning the Twenty20 World Cup was nothing special and winning the World Cup in hockey was much harder. It's clear that he was jealous. The only argument they have is that Hockey is the national sport. I think India should change the national sport to Cricket.

hockey was famous sport 4 decades back..but after indian winning 1983 world cup..cricket became more popular in india......hockey is national sport since 1970s...maybe in future cricket will be our national sport....
