The basics, try reinstalling the graphics card driver. Make sure you're installing the driver for the correct card/OS.

I'd suggest what has been mentioned above by Abhas.
As it's a nVidia graphic card you should get the latest drivers available for it from the official site:
NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Automatically Detect NVIDIA Products
And btw I too use a nVidia graphic card,Photoshop is the only software which I can think of lags. Doesn't crash though but does slows down the whole system.

What Windows is it, and what architecture? At times rolling back to an older driver works better, like it did for my Printer driver on Windows 8.

Do you have atleast 4 gigs of RAM? And uninstall the drivers from the Sony website and then download the ones from Nvidia
