Well, I've been facing a weird problem today. My screen suddenly crashes and I get a message "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered". It was crashing and getting back to normal but just now, I was playing cricket07 and it crashed and the computer restarted. I haven't faced this kind of error before. Any idea what is wrong?
Follow these steps and see if it works:
1. open up the device manager:
-in Vista: right click on my computer and on the left side it should say device manager and click on it to open.
-In XP: Control Pannel->systems->advanced settings->hardware tab->device manager.
2. Look for "display drivers" in the device manager.
3. When you find it then expand it and there you should see the name of the graphic card you have.
4. Right click on it and click "uninstall"
5. Ignore any warnings that pop up as they are just there to tell you what you are about to do.
6. after you uninstall it, click on the "scan for hardware changes" at the top of the window or simply right click anywhere on the empty place in the device manager and click "scan for hardware changes".
7. It will tell you that you have uninstalled the display driver and will eventually find the drivers for you and will ask you to install them again (just follow the process in the pop up window to install them)
8. Install the drivers by following their process and you are done!
Basically, you just reinstalled your graphic drivers
Tell me if this helped.

My LT has turned off two times now in one day suddenly. I think it is due to ever heating. But, it didn't seem to be too hot. Makes sense?
Don't take chances with the laptop lol. If it is turning off by itself and when you turn it back on, if it doesn't tell you that your laptop was shut down because the battery was low then it can be because of it overheating. I just paid the price of $125 for ignoring the heating of my own laptop which resulted in the unsoldering of the GPU from the motherboard and I had to replace the motherboard to get the laptop back up running. Open up the laptop and take out the heatsink which is the fan. Open up the fan by opening up the screws and clean all the dust that is in the fan. While your laptop is open, add some new thermal compound to the CPU and the GPU (you can figure out what they are by searching on google according to your laptop brand and model number). You can also buy the thermal compound for cheap from local stores.
