South Africa in Australia Nov-Dec 2012/13

I think we've declared too early. Hilfy and Pattinson were going well and if we could have strected the lead to 450, that would of been good. If South Africa bat the overs, they'll win.

I don't :p But seems like a bit of destiny going on although you would feel real bad for Starc who has been next in line for the first 2 test.

Oops. That was definitely a mistake! Starc should be called into the team. Sounds like he was really close to playing in both tests.

Great catch by Cowan Africa 3 down :cheers Lyon is surely underrated :yes

Birthday boy strikes Petersen gone with or without Pattinson we are still at the top :)

EDIT:Today is Petersen birthday too :)

Now we just need to ship one of those Indian wickets over to Perth, score a thousand and that #1 ranking will be coming home for another decade or two.

Don't think the 4 quicks discussion will come up much for this WACA test, with the injuries and the way Lyon is going.

Declaration is working exactly how Clarke might have hoped - forcing SA to make nervy starts before tea, after tea and again tomorrow morning. I'd say it's more the nervy play than super bowling that's taking these wickets.

They're clapping Siddle in, now. Love it.

If Watson is back and bowling, they can go either way. However, an unnamed fast bowler will undoubtedly be called up to the squad.

I get the feeling Siddle might be nursing something. They've said on radio and TV that he's doing a few more stretches than usual. Even if he's not, there's a case to rotate out one of Siddle/Hilfy given that it's back to back Tests and that would mean 2 new pacemen would be needed in Perth: Starc and one other. Mitch Johnson would let them have 2 bowlers that would use that cross breeze well - if he'd taken some wickets yesterday vs Tassie then I would have predicted a call up for him. But he didn't, Jackson Bird did instead...

I thought so too. There was easy runs to be had and with Pattinson not able to bowl on a quick scoring ground I thought it was a big risk not to bat through til tea. But someone was muttering about the weather, and if it's true rain is coming then yes, good declaration by the Pup.

Absolute stone walling by ABDV and FDP yesterday arvo - I predict 9 men around the bat for Lyon at some point today, they just aren't even bothering to attack him at all :p

It's raining here South of Adelaide where I live...

Du Plessis dead as you like, not even offering a shot. Bull---- to overturn this.
