South Africa Tour of Pakistan 2021

TOLD YA!!!!!!!

WHATTTTA CATCH
Almost takes another one. Low bounce makes it fall just short. Variable bounce in the fourth innings could be very hard to negotiate.

That is pretty much South Africa's strongest bowling unit. Now if they can get the batting in order...

Faf dropped by Abid and Elgar completely misses a reverse-sweep and is nearly bowled.

It's all happening

I think nerves got to Hasan today. I'd back him to perform much better in the second innings. He knows how to bounce back.
If you get bowled out for less than 300 in the first innings in Karachi, either the bowling side has been phenomenal, or you haven’t batted well at all. The latter seems to be the case in this match.

Abid undone by low bounce. Will definitely be a hard innings. South Africa have 3 world class pacers.

Shamsi getting injured and Ngidi playing instead seems like a blessing in disguise for SA. Variable bounce will be very hard to negotiate.

Massive wicket. Babar gone. Will need a huge performance by Azhar, Fawad, Rizwan and Faheem.

Just plain dumb by Azhar. Why would you expose the nightwatchman to a genuine quick?

I didn't like the pitch one bit. The tracks should be sporting and entertaining like Pindi or Manchester. This was straight-up painful, or is it just me? 1 delivery bouncing, the other staying low, the next spinning, batsmen being rushed on one delivery and late on the next, and whatnot. Hardly any reward for the batsmen 2nd session onwards. A very un-Karachi pitch prepared on the orders from team management.

By the looks of it, I will be surprised if the game goes till day 4 lunch, and a target of above 120 would require a huge effort.

Even with an abysmal top-order, I reckon Pakistan would have to be terribly woeful to trail after their first innings. Fawad, Azhar, Rizwan are all good batsmen and rough costumers at the crease. Wouldn't count out Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf either. Yasir can bat a bit as well, so all in all, a deep batting line. Need someone to step up tho.

Just listened to Dean Elgar's press-conference, and he is saying that '220 is below-par but 33/4 makes it even. The pitch is not tough if you apply yourselves as batsmen, although 4th innings will get tough for Pakistan'.

Interesting take regarding 220 not being enough, and pitch not having any demons if you stick to the basics.

Agreed. Fawad, Azhar, Rizwan, and Faheem are all proper batsmen and can easily chip in 30-40 runs each. Hassan Ali and Yasir can bat a bit too. Also, don't forget Nouman Ali is also a more than handy batsman.

One out of these needs to get a big hundred and the game will be even-steven.

Well, Pakistan has made this interesting. Aiden Makram has to really step up. He has been with the team for a long time now and he still is playing as if its first few games.
