South African Tour of the West Indies, May-June 2010

What is with international cricket and failed keepers lately.

Akmal has been around for years and he's atrocious, Ramdin for the WI, i'd argue even McCullum would fall into this bracket at times.

I've seen Baugh play, he's a good player. I say give him a go. But isn't Ramdin like VC? :laugh

Yeah I agree with you guys.
Jason Holder could be one scare of a bowler if he is taken care of properly and coached. And also Braithwaite is a very god batsmen, capable of scoring a large amount of runs.
But is Dale Richards in the test squad? He seems quite the solid batsmen, who I think can score runs consistantly for the West Indies at the moment.

McCullum's keeping is fine. It's just that he's super inconsistent with the bat. Just like how he scored a century against Aus in a T20I just before the WT20 and then totally bombed during the tournament.

For some reason they didn't include Richards in the test squad. He could be injured because I heard Ian Bishop asking Gaylea bout it after one of the ODIs but Richards did play they ODI after that.
He would be my pick ahead of Dowlin. Apparently West Indies wont make any changes.

Man i cant wait to see Taylor/Roach/Edwards fully fit bowling together in tests for the windies.

I for a fact know that we will newer see all 3 in the team at the same time. They cant stay fit at all. Weak.

You know since WC started I have forgotten all about our poor fellars!!! But I have hopes we will, you see Gibson has done what no other recent West Indies coach could do, and that is to leave guys out if they are not 100% fit, in the past coaches have played guys carrying injuries and only to get them worst and then out for longer periods, so his stance to me is the best approach and should give us the chance to see all 3 at once, in fact he already mentioned that as one of his goals.

Shillingford has been very impressive where the hell was he all this time? Chanders should have held on to that catch pretty sure he'll be rueing it. It could prove very costly if Smith goes on to score big.

It's honestly better playing your best bowlers at say 80% rather playing some rookie at 100% and FTR edwards hasn't played for the west indies for over a year

Shillingford had a problem with his action and that did not help his chances.

Well I don't share that view of play 80% it can get guys in serious problems, they have done it to Edwards, Sars and they have had to pull out in overs or while batting!!!
He was seriously injured and at the same time had issues with the Board (story of our Board) but he is doing much better and will play again.

If its a batsman thats not 100% fit then I might play him but I bowler I wouldn't. Especially if its the ankles, knees and the back. Roach is back to the old times with no balls in bunches.

Great stuff by Shillingford, good reward for consistent performance at the domestic level.

wow the fielding has been ████ today. Poot Shillingford, keeps creating chances and nobody can hang on to anything. If the wicket is suited for pace in the final test he might beat out Benn for the spinners spot based on his performance in this test.

Great innings played by smithm Shillingford is also doing really great. Loved him.

I think this match should end up in a draw.

All depends on what Morkel and Steyn can do on this flat wicket and if the West Indies batsman can keep a cool head and not throw away wickets. Also South Africa wont drop catches like the West Indies did.

Lol nice shot by Dowlin there, pulling Steyn violently, but these guys will not last more than 50 overs if they don't show some patience and buckle down

and he is out playing some weird sort of aggressive defensive shot.

Yea, im done with this. Don't want to watch the Windies collapse again, its too depressing.

at least they did not send Nash out at 3

Very boring series IMO. South Africa all the way. They should have played Newzealand in place of South Africa. Both equal class teams then :doh
